CHAPTER 3 - Mehendi Mishap (Part 1)

Malhotra House (Kartik's POV)

Finally, after checking all the arrangements for the millionth time, Dadi deemed the house fit to host Sonu-Raj and Ishqi-Minki Bhai's mehendi.

After almost half an hour of waiting, almost all of the guests were present including Sarla auntie and the two brides !! 'Uff, kya zamana aa gaya hain ?? We have to give all the special privileges given to bride to Sarla Auntie too' I thought seeing Sarla auntie wanting to get henna applied to her before Ishqi.

I was about to interfere Sarla auntie before she starts taunting my poor sis, Ishqi, who is the only one who actually has some 2021 thoughts in this 1921 household, when there was a doorbell and everyone's, including Sarla auntie's attention got there. Bhola went and opened the door to reveal a beautiful-girl in her mid-twenties smiling at everyone. Bhai just smiled at her and said, "Welcome Rhea !!". What She is Rhea !? Then she is his girlfriend right !? And he is greeting her formally as if she's his business partner or something. This is the reason, I ship 'ISHQAAN'. Ishqi manages to bring all of Bhai's emotions to the forefront.

After a round of instructions, I was sitting grumpily at the drink corner. Really !? Bhai literally talked with Rhea for so long and mentioned me such a few times that she didn't even remember my name !? 'Something with K', I said mimicking when my eyes caught Bhai staring at something or rather someone.

Woah !! I mean, his girlfriend is here still he is staring at Ishqi !! Even that's gr8 for my triple S – Sankskari, Stylish, Sophisticated, Bhai.

Suddenly, Bhai broke the eye contact and turned to my side with a small, content smile playing on his lips. Now, how can I miss such an opportunity ?? I smirked at him and made a 'Nazar Na Lag Jaaye' gesture at him and Ishqi.

He annoyedly rolled his eyes at me and was about to say something when the sound of a jeep parking outside our gate got everyone's attention. Seems like Mona and Sid are here !!

Malhotra's House (Karan's POV)

We finally reached the address given by Sonali. Fortunately, the ride was not that awkward as I had thought it would be.

Yeah, Rani Sahiba was not talking to me but she was sleeping most of the time !! Siddharth and Sanju were talking at the backseat and I was focusing on driving so the ride was rather silent, but not that awkward.

Sanjana went and pressed the door bell and a lady in her early fifties opened the door. According to the data we have collected, she was Ritu Malhotra, wife of Dev Malhotra.

"Mata Rani !! Mata Rani !! Kitne bade ho gaye ho tum log !! Aur kinne sone bhi lag rahe ho !! Kahi meri hi nazar naa lag jaaye !!", she said hugging Siddharth and Monami.
