It all begins

"Hi everyone" my first ever message to the group chat "Hi Sammy!" someone named Alex texted back happily "how are you all" I ask excited someone actually wanted to talk to me "Good thanks :)" one thing I noticed about Alex was she replied really quickly "do you know anyone in this gc" I asked hopeful of making a few new friends "Not really but theres this nice person Elijah who I've kinda talked to" as if it was bloody marry and we'd said their name too many times "Hi guys! I go by They/them pronouns how about you 2" I was worried I joined a weird group chat but looked like I hit the jackpot "I go by she/her" I told them, I think Alex was spooked by the bloody marry magic because she had gone offline by this point. a few hours pass, I check my phone for notifications but there was nothing "should I text the group?" "what if they think I'm annoying" "leave it I'm sure everythings fine" I had so many thoughts running through my head, eventually I gave up and text the group "Hiii" my thumb hovers over send for a few seconds before finally I just sent it, "oh no was that too many i's?!" "delete it, no ones seen it yet!" I put my phone on the table and walked away, just as I left the room I heard a snapchat message. I launched myself towards the table and pick up my phone "Elijah is typing..." I unlocked my phone and opened snapchat "Hiii!!" "few" everything was fine "what have you been up too?" I asked "I read Heartstpper earlier" I was thrilled! another Heartstopper fan!? I love that book! "OMG I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!!" I replied excitedly "Really!" they asked "yes I have all 4!" I had finally found another fan of the greatest book ever made, some may say I'm being a bit dramatic with that but I disagree obviously. "Omg I love that book too!" Alex had reappeared. the HeartStopper convocation carried on for almost an hour before I remembered I was going to be late for work, I quickly grabbed my car keys, bag, and phone, and dashed out the door and hopped in my car, I work at the local pet shelter for anyone wondering. as soon as I arrived I could hear all the excited dogs, cats, and all the other animals we homed at the shelter. just before I went into work my phone pinged again "Alex is typing..." I ignored it for now and went into work. "Hey Sam" my co-worker Charlie waved at me "Oh my god hi Charlie! haven't seen you for a while" I smiled walking over to him "no I've been off sick for a while ahaha" again my phone buzzed "Alex sent a chat" I opened snapchat "This sounds weird but how old are you all? I'm 17" someone my age? at last! I put my phone away excited to talk to my new friends after work
