Only a Nightmare Away

Nightmares, something that most people have, a figment of your imagination, constent nightmares can cause you to go insane, most people would say it is insane to love a nightmare but what if your love only existed in your nightmares?

This is the story of Maria Sparks and a love that was only a Nightmare Away...

Maria Sparks had always had nightmares, ever since she was a little girl. She was an orphan and had never met her parents, so she had never really felt loved, it was not until she was sixteen years old that she saw him, who was he? She wondered. This shirtless boy standing just a short distance away from her, on a small hill, the moon light iluminated him like he was standing in a spotlight ,his spiked black hair shimmered perfectly, he was slightly taller than she was, he looked strong like the type of boy who would have a six pack, but he was facing the other way, she couldn't see his face, the face of this mysterious boy, she wanted to call out to him, but she stopped herself and focused closer on him, something was now dripping from both his shoulders. Was it blood? Was he hurt? She was about to run towards him when she froze, held her breath and looked away as he let out what sounded like a cry of pain, she looked back over to him, two black, blood covered wings had emerged from his back. She stumbled backwards in sheer terror and hit her head with force against a tree. Everything went black.

Marias eyes slowly flickered open to a blinding whiteness, it took her a few seconds to realise where she was, a hospital?...so it was all a dream?, no a Nightmare, it had happened again, one of her regular blackouts, and this particular one had ended with her in hospital, but that boy, as soon as she saw him she felt something she had never felt before, but to think that she would probably never see him again, was to much to bare, but to see him in pain was even worse, but why?, why did she feel like this? It was only a nightmare, a figment of her own imagination, I have to stop letting my nightmares get the better of me, she thought. They are not real. Maria's head started to throb and she felt a little dizzy, she looked over to the doorway, a nurse was aproaching her, she was quite short, she was wearing a blue and white nurses uniform and her blond hair was in a neat bun with a navy blue ribbon holding it in place. "How are you feeling?" Asked the nurse. "I feel fine" Maria lied, she was desparate to get out of that hospital, even though the hospital was huge she always felt claustrophobic when she was in them. "Well if your sure you feel fine, I will speak to the doctor and you should be able to leave, shall I make arangements for someone to pick you up?" the nurse asked, with a smile on her face. "Thanks, that would be great" Maria replied while reaching down into her bag and taking out a note pad and a purple pen, she tore a piece of paper out of the note pad and wrote down a phone number. "Just phone this number and ask the girl that answers to pick me up, her name is Ashley Price, we live together in an apartment, not to far from here" Maria smiled slightly as she handed the peice of paper to the nurse, still pretending that she was absaloutly fine. "Okay I'll give her a call and im sure she'll be here shortly." Said the nurse as she turned and walked away.

About twenty minutes later Maria was patiently sitting on her hospital bed waiting for Ashley to come and pick her up, when Suddenly a panicking blonde haired girl, burst through the doors of the hospital ward. Maria! She shouted loudly making everyone turn around and stare at her. This was Ashley Price, the short but bold blondie with the big blue eyes, a typical seventeen year old directioner, with a funny and random personality, and believe me she has her blonde moments. Maria ran over to Ashley and hugged her tightly. Maria your alive! Ashley yelled as she embraced Maria in a tight hug. Maria looked around the ward to see that they were still being stared at, so before Ashley could make the situation any more awkward than it already was Maria grabed her bag, thanked the nurses and quickly ran out of the hospital pulling Ashley along behind her.

Both girls were walking through a forrest, it was the fastest way home from the hospital without having to go through the busy town center. "So it was another blackout then?" Ashley asked as they walked along. "Yea it was, I think its my Nightmares that's causing it to happen" Maria said as she walked close to Ashley and kicked the stones on the path. "Maybe, what happened in your Nightmare this this time? Ashley asked and looked up at Maria with a curious smile on her rose pink lips. "Well' I saw this boy-" Ashley quickly cut her off "ohh was he hot!? Ashley shouted with excitment. "Umm...yea he was, as I was saying he was shirtless and standing on a hill and the moon light was shining off his black hair-" Ashley cut Maria off again. "Wait so he was hot and he had black hair...Oh my God its Zayn!" Maria rolled her eyes and continued egnoring what Ashley had just said. "then he was bleeding and wings emerged from his back and I fell backwards and everything went black" "Aww not Zayn then" Ashley said with a frown. "No Ashley it wast Zayn," Maria said as she patted the hopless directioners back.

They finally reached their appartment and they went inside threw their bags on the floor and slumped down on the sofa. "So this hot boy who isn't Zayn, do you want to see him again?" Ashley asked. "Yea of course want to see him again, its strange I think there's something about him, something more than him just being part of a Nightmare." Maria said while keeping a vision of the boy in mind. "Well I know where the answer is." Ashley said. Maria looked over at Ashley, "where?" Maria asked with excitment in her voice. "Its only a Nightmare Away" Ashley said. Realising that Ashley was right Maria ran upstairs, brushed her teeth, climbed into bed and a few minutes later she fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
