Adepti are not human, yet humans and animals are able to achieve adepti status.
The vision he wears is not a regular vision. He wears it to keep up appearances like most archons and adepti. His power comes from his 3rd or inner eye which has manifested into a vision
.

"His powers in battle may seem very similiar to those that have had visions handed down to them from Celestia, but he also has abilities specific to the adepti; such as dream trawler, which is an ability to seperate the soul from the body.
He has been the Stalwart Protector of all of Liyue people for centuries upon centuries, yet few in the mortal realm actually know of his existance; that is inevitable though, since he is not a deity nor adepti who people pray to for prosperity, wealth, or divine wisdom.
The boy is known as the Conquerer of Demons, and so, is one of the most stalwart protectors of Liyue's peace, though, only the high ranking of Liyue's rulers seem to know about his contributions and even about his presence.

For as long as I can remember, he's only had one goal.

Protect the people of Liyue.

I respect him a lot. There is a sheer amount of karmic debt the boy is willing to take on. The only possible way of eradicating the never-ending hatred of fallen gods is by excepting the same magnitude of karmic debt upon oneself - its dangerous depths more than any mortal such as myself could possibly fathom.

I built Wangshu-Inn as a safe place for the yaksha. He is the only one remaining. Xiao's relentless slaughtering of these evil manifestations has caused his spirit to become tainted - to the point where it'd normally consume flesh, bone and even one's very soul...

This has caused the poor yakshas to go mad, slaying one another becuase their karmic debt was too much for them to handle. Did you know that he only lived because of the Anemo god who played his flute, soothing him out of his karmic debt? It's honestly shocking, but alas, no one is sure where the god has went.

I look up to him a lot, because despite all the physical agony this has caused him - and will continue to cause him - he himself feels no hatred; because you see, it's not really the wrath of vanquished gods that he wrestles with most, but rather, himself and his own past.

Back during a time when he was younger and much more naive, a cruel god discovered and took hold of his weakness, which is known by some such as myself; for the yaksha's safety I will not disclose this information, but it left him with no choice but to do the devil's bidding. He was forced to  commit an innumerable amount of cruel and violent acts which resulted in the deaths and crushed hopes of so many. The god who enslaved him even forced him to devour his victim's dreams.
On one very fateful day, Morax challenged his master and ended up defeating him on the battlefield. Then, having compassion on the now freed adeptus, he bestowed the name upon him 'Xiao'.

"He's been through so much suffering"... I read from a book that Morax gave him this name after he read a fable about a spirit named Xiao who also encountered great suffering- and thus, Xiao, 'The Vigilant Yaksha', remains entirely loyal to the Geo archon and the contract he took on to defend Liyue.

Is that all you needed to know?"

The bard sighed and got up from the table.

"Yes, thank you. Do you perhaps have a story of the Yaksha?" He said, finding the name 'Xiao' all too familiar, as if he'd heard it before.
Putting the book in his bag, he paid Verr her mora and left to go to Qingyun Peak.

He flew over to the mountain and sat on one of the braches of the tree that grew there, feeling the wind tustling his hair as he skimmed through the book. "Xiao..." he muttered to himself. Morax has definately brought that name up a bit more than once. The windborne bard pulled his lyre out of his bag, playing a soft melody that he hoped no one would hear. It was a new one he was trying out, so it was still a work in progress.

A small smile formed on his face as he heard the tune. He looked up at the peak and made his way up before the sun set. He watched the sun dip below Liyue and sighed as he looked at the figure in the tree.

"Venti?"
