Deep in the Frightful Night...

Your skin makes small bumps;
Your throat now has small lumps.
You hear trees howling your name,
Your thoughts have gone lame.

An owl follows, crying its hoot,
The trees creak, soon going mute.
Your ears detect a low growl;
A wild beast on the prowl.

The wind shrieks through the now silent air,
The feared noise making dreams have a scare.
You won't see the morning light,
You won't survive this dreadful night.

The once blazing fire is now merely coals,
Twilight saying, 'this forest; haunted by lost souls.'
The wind whispering in your ear;
Driving your everlasting fear.

The dark making your eyes blind,
Bringing a horrid fear from your dark mind.
A terrible lasting fear of the dark.
Something coming to kill you, only a lark.

That little bird made you realize,
You have never been so unwise.
You followed your twisted brain here,
Now your unruly death is drawing near.

It's then in this Frightful Night,
You realized you are alright.
That, there's nothing wrong at all,
The trees are just ever so tall.

Deep in this Frightful Night,
You found a bright little light.
That little light ever so bright.
It killed all the horrid fright.

----

That little light is now your best friend,
It took shape and form into a rabbit.
Your friendship will never end.
Out of bond, you went back by habit.

Down into that horrid forest.
Just to see your only friend.
Oh how the ravens chorused.
He helped you love and mend.

You followed him down the rabbit hole;
Finding a world to call your own.
You aren't anymore a lost soul,
You aren't anymore a simple clone.

You escaped from your world to his;
You do not miss your world at all.
'What has your life and ways come to?', was his quiz.
'I bumped my head and I bruised my soul.', was your call.

For you fell down the rabbit hole,
Deep in that Frightful Night.
The dark forest stole your soul.
And rid you of your frightful fright.

Deep in this Frightful Night.
You found a bright little light.
A little light that guided you home.
So you can halt your little roam.
