The circus. To humanity this is a place of magic, trickery and entertainment; for the animals that are held there, however, it's a completely different story. For within this loudly-coloured and balloon-filled charade, a true horror awaits.Shackled and placed harshly into tiny confined cells, sometimes right on top of one another as they are tortured in different ways, each more disturbing than the next. Handlers brandishing their tools of ill intent; whips, cattle prods and the likes are used, leaving these majestic beasts to feel the torment and horror from their abusers. Young torn brutally away from their mother's warm embrace all too soon, and placed in their own imprisonment to be raised with the same terror that their parents have to endure. As if this wasn't enough, they're barely fed enough to keep them nourished before being made to work. Cowering under the unforgiving hands of humans, battered and bruised whilst their bones show prominently from beneath their skin.
Bears and other predators who once roamed freely are mercilessly beaten into the desired conformity fitting to the acts they're forced to perform. Tigers, whom are deathly terrified of fire, being pushed to jump through flame-engulfed hoops to please the crowds.
Carnivores aren't the only ones. Elephants and horses are also made to endure unspeakable atrocities at the hands of the circus. Parading the stage with bright and flamboyant restraints, performing in large or small comedic acts to please the crowds. Chimpanzees and other primates on leashes, dressed in restrictive clothing to give them a more human-like appearance, yet another cage trapping their wild spirit.
These creatures live in the harshest and most barbarous conditions whilst the world ignorantly turn a blind eye to this. Captured from their wild homes, imprisoned and enslaved to bring enjoyment and entertainment to many places. There is often a wonder as to how much longer humanity can glaze over the blatant cries for help from earth's beautiful beings, when all they desire is to reclaim their rights to freedom and peace where they belong.
