"Grampa!" The young child pulled at his grandfather's clothes. "Can you tell me a story?"
The old man turned around and looked at the child. "Of course!" He said. They walked to the living room and sat down. "I have you a good story today. It is the story of the great Cacao King."
"Oh! This one's new!" The child said from the floor.
"Yes. Hand me that book over there." He pointed to a relatively thick book. The boy grabbed it and handed it to the elder. He opened it and began to read.
"Once upon a time there was a powerful king. He ruled a quarter of Earthbread. He ruled a quarter of everything. Some really loved him. Some really liked him."
"These people are really dim..." Strawberry Crape Cookie said resting their head on their brothers legs.
"I know. But his smile shook the stenches of the rotten underground!" Blueberry Crape Cookie said.
They sighed knowing their brother was brainwashed. Why were they the only one who could see. His snakelike words manipulated those around.
Nobody really cared though because he was a ruler of the world.
"Around him we never get bored." Blueberry said. "We should get heading back tho. Cacao wouldn't be happy if we were late home!"
Crape rolled their eyes and stood from their spot on the ground. Slowly Crape and Blueberry made there way home. They were took in by Cacao when Choco brought them home.
They had lived on the streets before. They would've died if they hadn't met the prince.
They made it back to their home and entered. Crape made their way to their room as blueberry went to find Choco.
Crape cupped their face as their tired body slammed against the soft bed. They didn't realize they fell asleep till their eyes snapped open to a dark room. They stood from their bed and exited the small room.
Slowly they made there way to the throne room to visit their now father. They knew from the beginning that they wouldn't have much time with their father due to an odd illness hitting soon after the adoption.
He may not have been a good king but he was a good father. They saw from how he treated the other children.
When Crape got to the throne room they saw a sight they did not expect. They saw the Jester telling the king jokes.
He laughed at them with a sad smile. They could tell that behind their grand cloak was all his insecurity's. He hid them well. But not well enough. For the young child could see them as clear as day.
"Watcher, great Watcher. Where are you? With your fancy blades and your Turkish bow?" A guard called down the hall. Crape gasped and hid in a small cupboard.
"What?" Caramel Arrow Cookie walked towards them. The guard shrugged and Arrow rolled her eyes.
"Please, great Watcher, make the king feel superior." He said.
"Fine." She began to enter the throne room.
"And while you're at it, call in the fiddler." Arrow gave him the middle finger and continued on.
Once they left Crape crawled out of the cupboard and looked around to find nobody.
Cacao?
All these distractions and all of my might couldn't help me with this deep internal fight.
With my army I had won many battles.
But this one....
It's different.
I sat high up on my throne that was full of hurt. All my peasants moped in the dirt.
Still I sat high day and night. My body began to shake again and I realized that the others had left.
"Father?" The voice made me try to cover up the intense shaking. "Father. Please don't hide it from me anymore."
Dark Choco walked closer to me. "Please father." Slowly my shivering broke through. I looked away.
I couldn't face him.
Quiet sobs made me look up up again. A crimson eye that was filled with hurt stared back. I slowly rose from my spot on the throne.
I shuffled down the steps toward the young boy. Once I was a few steps away from him I put my hands on his shoulders.
We crumbled to our knees as we hugged. Dark Choco loudly cried into my shoulder as a few tears fell down my face.
"All the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put him back together again, because he abused and used and showed off his powers."
Suddenly there was a knock at the front door and it opened. In entered a young woman with brown hair with two white streaks.
"Looks like your mother is here so that'll be a story for another hour Mint."
