Taeno is always goofing off. even in serious situations.
"Taeno, you aren't going anywhere. hold on, ive got you. come on, you're strong. ive got you."
i was holding their side, which had a large wound. blood was spilling out, but i tried to stop it.
"Azrela, you know i love you, right?"
Taeno stop it. please.
"yes, i love you too, Taeno."
i can feel hot tears running down my cheeks. they're not going to die. i won't let them.
"that's a bit gay."
Taeno, you're dying. please stop being a homophobic gay person for two seconds.
"you don't say?"
i stifled a giggle. its hard not to laugh. they can make anyone laugh without even trying.
"Azraela, i want you to have this."
Taeno took off the necklace they always wore, and placed it in my hands. they were crying too.
"Taeno, i can't keep this." i told them.
"please. i need you to have it."
i took the chain, and clasped it around my neck.
"thank you."
Taeno gasped, and crumpled into my arms. this can't be happening. we were both crying.
Taeno didn't look like you see in movies. they were just...dead. lifeless, like a candle's flame had gone out.
they were my everything, and now they were gone.
i lied there for a while, grasping their cold, lifeless body and crying. i couldn't breathe after a little bit. our friend, Liam walked slowly behind me, and he dropped his drink when he saw what happened.
"what the fuck."
he was shocked, and tears welled up in his eyes.
"they got assaulted. stabbed."
it was hard to even explain. i could barley muster up any words.
"oh my god.."
Liam looked like he was going to be sick, and honestly, i was too.
he sat down, gently beside me and Taeno, and sang softly their favourote song.
"look at the stars, look how they shine for you."
he sang softly and gently.
we both looked up at the stars, as he sang.
we held taeno tight, until we saw the sun start to rise.
