I sat with my head in my hands, my eyes shut and breath escaping from my mouth, as I tried my best to stop the noises around me from invading my brain.
It was proving really hard actually.
"I DON'T WANT TO EAT THIS! GET IT AWAY FROM ME!"
I sighed, lifting my head up the same moment Alena walked inside the room, watching me. "We need to go."
"How is she?"
"Bad. Won't be calming down anytime soon. Dad says we need to leave."
"Ashley can't leave like this."
"Ashley won't be coming."
This had my head snapping towards her, and it is safe to say I was alarmed. "What?"
Alena shrugged, lifting her bag from the study table. "Like you said, she can't leave mom like this. She is not coming."
"Did Ashley say so?"
Alena glanced at me, her face a blank canvas. "Dad said so."
Oh. Dad said. Then there is nothing we can do.
But...
"We have never gone on our own, Alena. What if we get lost?" Yet I was standing up and walking towards my back, the same time Alice walked in, going for her bag as well.
Alena shrugged again. "We will just follow what Ashley or Sindy would do every other morning. And it can't be that hard. We come home alone all the time. It's the same route."
Yeah. It is. It's not like something will happen to us on the way.
"Don't worry about it. Now let's go. Before we are late."
We are never late.

I hate French class. No, correction, I hate the French teacher, Monsieur Hafzofel. I hate that bald eagle.
And Nat could relate.
"Okay, someone give me a hammer. Let me bash it on this bald eagle's head. Please." Nat deadpanned, and although I would have laughed if it was any other situation, I couldn't, because I was feeling like doing the same.
Debora glanced behind her at Nat's notebook who was sitting beside me for this class, frowning. "It's not that bad. At least you guys are still learning the alphabets while we are already making sentences."
Nat's head snapped at Debora, a glare set on her face? "Alphabets? Alphabets!? Does this look like alphabets to you!?"
They weren't alphabets. They were twelve months in a year.
"Bald eagle broke the stereotype. " I said with a sigh, rubbing the corner of my eyes. Railey turned to look at us, a disgusted look on her face. "Stop overreacting, you too. You have been learning alphabets since you started attending this school! Learn something different already!"
