Today my mum woke me up at 7:30am and told Rolf and I to get up. We had to go to Diagon Ally to get our books. I also had to get a cauldron, wand and an owl because it was my 1st day at Hogwarts today! Anyways, mum and I went to Gringotts while Rolf went to get his books. We got out of Gringotts, my pockets full, and shopped for about 2 hours, then went home for an early morning snack.
At 10:30am, Rolf, mum and I left for the train station and arrived 10 minutes before the trains leaving time. We found the wall between platform 9 and 10. Rolf went 1st through the wall, mum and I went through together as it was my first time. It was a rather abnormal feeling, going straight through a 'solid' brick wall.
Once we got to the other side of the wall, my eyes were filled with the scarlet Hogwarts Express. Rolf always told me how pretty it was. Mum ushered me onto the train after giving me a tight hug and a kiss on the forehead. I found an empty compartment and sat down. 2 minutes until the train leaves!
"Do you mind? Everywhere is taken.." a red-headed asked me as the train started moving, we sat down and talked for a while, when another boy with emerald green eyes and messy dark brown hair came and asked the same thing. He sat down next to me.
"Ron, Ron Weasley." Said my new red-head friend.
"Y/N, Y/N Y/L/N" I introduced myself
"Harry Potter." The messy haired boy said.
I felt a bit bad for my eyes travelling straight to his scar as he seemed uncomfortable. I tried to play it off by starting a conversation. Ron and Harry are my first friends I made at Hogwarts!
A plump lady with a trolly-full of lollies came past our compartment and Harry bought EVERYTHING, it would have been at least 2 galleons, I knew the Potters were rich, but I didn't know they were THAT rich, he shared with us. After an hour of eating and talking, a bushy haired girl came in right when Ron was about to show us a spell his brothers had taught him, as expected, the spell didn't work and she corrected him, she showed us a 'simple' spell she had learnt. "Oculus Repairo" She fixed Harry's glasses which were broken in the middle, without Harry's consent. Her name was Hermione Granger, she is the biggest bookworm I'd ever met. She ended up leaving our compartment after telling us that Ron had dirt on his nose.
We pulled on our robes quickly when the train started slowing down. It was only now that I realised how nervous I really was. We hopped off the train and followed Hagrid over to the black lake, Ron Harry and I shared a boat and sailed over to the castle, it was such a surreal experience!
Once we got into the castle we climbed a few sets of stairs and met Professor Mcgonagall, she led us into the Great Hall where the sorting ceremony begun. Harry, Ron, Hermione and myself were sorted into Gryffindor. I was relieved when my new friends joined me at the Gryffindor table. The start-of-term feast was delicious! I met Ron's brothers, Fred and George, twins, who are in year 3. And Percy, I noticed that he is very work-driven and a massive teachers pet.
Percy, this years prefect, led the Gryffindors to the common-room and where the girls, and boys would be sleeping. Hermione and I were in the same dorm and we soon became friends. I went to sleep that night, glad that I had made friends.
