Prologue

We just proved to the Volturi that Renesmee wasn't an immortal child. We all celebrated before the covens left. I was standing with Edward and Jacob. We were watching Renesmee with the Amazon Coven.

"You want to leave too?" Asked Edward as he looked at me.

Stupid mind reader.

"Let's talk when its just the family"

He nodded in agreement. He wrapped an arm around my shoulders though. I grinned slightly.

Renesmee came running up. She hugged Edward before hugging me. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders. Bella came walking up.

"Hey"

We greeted her back. She got Renesmee's hand and placed it on her cheek.

"Yeah, we'll be together forever now."

She hugged Bella then. I sighed at the sight.

When the covens were gone and it was just us and Jacob in the house. I was standing in front of the family.

"I'm going to keep this simple and to the point. I want to go to California. With my gift, I can conceal myself so I don't sparkle when I'm in the sunlight."

"You want to leave?" Asked Rosalie.

"Yes, I want to venture out on my own. I've been sixteen for over a hundred years. It's time I went off on my own. Maybe go to school, make new friends"

"Start a new life?" Asked Emmett.

"Why start a new life? I have a family already. I'm saying I want to act like a normal teenager. Go in the sun, go to the beach, hang out with friends everyday, get into trouble."

They all cracked a smile.

"I can do this. I want to do this. Please."

Carlisle and Esme looked at each other. Even though I was the youngest mentally, I'm the second eldest alongside Edward physically.

"Alright. We'll let you go. On a couple of conditions."

I nodded.

"Stay in contact with us and be careful"

"I promise. Thank you"

I ran upstairs to begin packing. I was excited about going to California. To be honest, I felt like something was calling me there. Like I needed to be there.

When I was packed, I took everything to my Jeep. Yep, I owned a Jeep just like Emmett. I could use it for off and on roading. When I turned back to the house, everyone was gathered outside.

I ran and hugged Edward. He was my older brother. He's always protected me over the years. He hugged me back tightly. He kissed the top of my head.

"Take care of yourself June-Bug"

Edward was the only one who called me June-Bug.

"I will"

I hugged Bella next.

"Watch over Ed for me"

She smiled slightly. "I promise"

I nodded. Renesmee wrapped her arms around my waist. I bent down to her level. I hugged her. When I pulled back, I sighed.

I took off one of my necklaces which belonged to my mother. I never took the three necklaces off. I hooked it around her neck. It fell just above the locket.

"Take care of this for me. It was my mother's. It's very special to me."

She smiled and nodded. She placed her hand on my cheek. I smiled.
