"This fucking heat is killing me!!" Gilbert shouted as beads of sweat formed around his face. The sun was high in the sky, the rays of light showing no mercy and no clouds were around to offer a shady spot.

Francis and Antonio would have to agree if their mouth wasn't parched. The thought of bring a water bottle escaped their minds earlier that morning when it was still nice and cool. When they landed in Phoenix, they all agreed to look around the city before checking into the hotel. Now, they were thinking about just heading to California which they knew for a fact was nice during the summer.

"Let's go there!!" a voice called out, cheery and positive. The three boys turned around to see a group of two girls and two boys walk by them as the long haired girl pointed to a five story place. Francis turned to look at the building. Was that a famous site?

"Anyplace than being out in this heat!!" the brown haired boy exclaimed as he was holding an umbrella. The girl turned around, walking backwards smiling at him.

"Is my umbrella helping you Ian?" the girl laughed and then spun around then linked her arms with the other girl. The other boy ran up to the two girls.

"No, no running," Ian said as he walked quickly after them. Soon, they got smaller and went into the building.

"I wish I was those people," Gilbert whined as he was in the shade of a small tree that could only fit one person. "They look so immune to the heat."

"I have to agree with him," Antonio said, standing next to the building that didn't offer shade except for maybe a inch or two. Francis sighed as he looked at his phone, 11:02 am.

"It's not even check in time yet but shall we head to the hotel?" Francis suggested as he was watching his two buddies melting into the sidewalk.

"Heck yes but maybe, can we head inside? Maybe where those people went?" Antonio suggested as he stood back up and gazed towards the five story building.

Gilbert started walking towards the building and so it was settled. Upon opening the door, the rush of cold air was a refreshing relief from the heat as they walked down the stone hallway. Soon, the walked into the opened ceiling lobby. They could see all five floors, the inner water fountain, the window like elevator, it was simply amazing.

"Hey look, it's them," Gilbert said, watching an elevator go up slowly. The group messing around but what stood out to them was the long haired girl who was smiling and laughing.

"Maybe they're tourist or something," Antonio suggested as he sat down. Francis and Gilbert soon joined him. Francis called for a taxi to take them to the hotel. The guys were all thinking different things as the time went by and soon, they got into the cab and were heading to the hotel. Hopefully, Francis thought, we can get used to this heat.

"Welcome to the JW Marriott Hotel and Spa," the man said as he opened the door for the guys. "Let me get your things and show you to the counter."

"Wow, this place is beautiful," Antonio commented as he scanned the luxurious green grass, the color popping flowers and the clean streets that were so jet back. He wondered if he was still in Phoenix as he followed his pals inside. "Yup, it's official, I have died of a heat stroke."

"Kesesese," Gilbert laughed as he too had thought that. Soon enough, they were heading to their room as a bell boy was following them, making light conversation and he attempted to speak Spanish. Antonio laughed then corrected him but it was more fun to watch the teen blush but he still tried.

After the bell boy left, explaining everything to them, Gilbert fell into the king sized bed.

"Man, this is the room and the life," Gilbert said, spreading out and then rolling to the side to allow Antonio and Francis to join him on the bed. The room was nice, cold and refreshing and soon enough, the three males fell into a slumber.
