My name is Shayla Grace Dean. Im 17 years old , about 5'6 and well, lets just say, my life isnt perfect.

My parents, if they should even be called that, are abusive drunks. Sometimes, even when theyre sober, they make fun of me about my depression and my cutting.

I want to leave. It started because of them. I had it all planed out though. Tonight was the night i packed a bag and jumped out my window and then run. Run as fast as i can till i find someone. Not like one of those creepy old guys on the side.of the road, but a friend. Karly, to be exact.

She knew me. She was my best friend, the one i told everything to. I would live in the condo her parents bought a while back but never moved into. Her parents, her, and me have been plannig this for 2 month now.

'Finally,' i said to myself as i looked at my phone. It was 9 o'clock. Time to pack my bag and leave.

I grabbed my pink nike bag and tbrew clothes and underwear in it and my head phones and phone charger. I opened window quietly, trying not to wake my already probably drunk father. I lifted my leg to the outside of the window. And thats when i heard it. The deep, minicing laughter owned by one man. My father. He was standing in my door way.

"Going somewhere so soon?" he asked as he stumbled over to me.
"N-no s-s-sir." i said shaking. He terrified me. His beatings were always the worst. He grabbed my light purple hair, dyed countless times, and yanked me back through the window. I crindged in pain.

"What the hell makes you think you can leave?!" he yelled in my face. Then he threw me on the ground.

This was it, i thought to myself, this is where i die, time to say a final goodbye.
