Searching and Waiting

<Ian's POV>

I woke up laying on the couch. I was about to yell to my mom when I realized she wasn't here and I don't know how long it will be until she is going to be. The simple thought of losing her is terrifying... I get up and go to the kitchen, where I find my grandma sobbing into a handkerchief. "everything will be okay." I lie, how do I know I'm on the verge of sitting there and crying out all the possible tears I have but I have to be strong, for my grandma.

About an hour after calling all close family members, we filed a missing persons report. They placed it right on top of Mandy's... We all gathered getting ready for our search party, this didn't feel like a party at all. I miss them so dearly. Then I realize Johanna is there...

<Johanna's POV>

I turn on the T.V. to see two familiar faces, Ian and Mrs.Smith. I'm surprised when I realize why, His mom is missing. They ask anyone to come to the search party, which triggered me to get ready to go help search.

I told Mark and Ramona who said they were all coming then . Well they do need people.

As we arrived I saw Ian, he was crying so was Mrs.Smith. He saw me when I got out of the van. He slowly walked towards me as I did the same to him. He hugged me as close as he could, I haven't felt anyone hug me for so long besides Benjamin and Samantha. I hugged back without thinking, he pulled back. "Thank you" he barely whispered. "No problem" I replied, I knew how it felt to lose someone. It feels absolutely terrible. I introduced him and Mrs.Smith to my foster family. After that we searched.

<Ian's POV>

I'm so stupid, why did I hug her. She probably thinks I'm weird. Then I felt her hug back it was the best feeling in the world I wanted to just hold her forever, but I had to pull away to say thank you because it would just sound like a mumble in her thick brown hair. Her eyes were stunning, they are the perfect shade of blue. I really want to know her more.

After an hour of searching I got a call from an unknown number. I answered it hoping it was my mom or my sister, but it wasn't it was the man who kidnapped them both. Suddenly everyone shushed as I put the call on speaker phone. My grandma put her hand to her mouth to hold in her cries of pain and sorrow. "I see you all searching, you know, there really is no point to continue the search because I have a deal for you. If you can get me 10,000 dollars I will let Mary go" Everyone gasped at the sound of him saying 10,000 dollars. "What about Mandy?" I asked bravely trying to hold in the tears. "Oh you want both? I think that's a little too much to ask for don't you think? Well, if you insist, how about we double the price for your precious sister Mandy. Have it by Monday next week and you can have them. Bye, I will be calling again." He said with a mad laugh. How was I suppose to get 20,000 dollars by next Monday?! The police told us to come to the police station and stay the night there, to be safe we agreed. " Ian! I want to come, I mean might I be able to come with you?" I took a glance at the police officers they nodded. I couldn't hide my wide smile. Johanna went to ask if she could her foster parents said yes. She ran over to us, on the way there she sat quietly while listening to me tell her about myself. I can't wait to learn more about her, until I realized what brought us back together. The police took my phone just in case the kidnapper called again, they said all we could do was wait....
