I didn't really mind waking up early, I loved being early to school so I could check out nice books from the library. My parents left a note on the counter saying they'd need me to be home right after school so they can talk to me about something important.
I left my house, locking the door behind me and started my morning walk to school. I never minded for a car, my parents were always telling me I needed one soon, but I loved walking, it gave me time to see the outside world and all it's wonderful possibilities. I loved the smell of fresh cut grass, and the wonderful color of the world all around me.
As soon as I got to school I noticed that the popular people were by the pavilion, I chose another direction and chose not to get in their way since I was to shy to say anything if one talked to me. I was always shy around anyone except my best friend of course who was sadly a social butterfly. Glenda never tried to change me and I loved that about her, she wasn't like most people, but then again I didn't talk to anyone but her and my teachers.
As I passed by the group of people I saw them, the 3 boys who manage to keep girls fixing all parts of their body, hair and make up. Most girls throw themselves at them, I never got why, they're just boys. First it was London Bryant, he was the player he got girls left and right and never needed to come anyway he only came for his friends, which leads me to the others. Next was Christian Matthews, quiet but I hear he's a secret player only with certain girls, he's the only one with a heart and many women after him. Then last but certainly not least was Aiden Parker, now he was the one EVERY girl wanted and I literally mean EVERY, except me. I honestly don't count since I never liked anybody but i couldn't help to say that these boys have all good looks, plenty of girls, and loads of money.
People like me don't belong with people like them and that was the truth. I never cared for anyone at school but Glenda, I knew that soon all of high school wouldn't mean a thing when we all got older. We would all soon die and end up six feet under somewhere, but all the same, dead. I just wanted to make something of myself and be proud and show these people that once didn't notice me, be begging at my feet. Okay so maybe not so dramatic but I did want to be noticed.
The first bell rang, signaling for us to go to class, so I grabbed my books from my locker and turned around to walk to my next class, except no one was walking, everyone was looking in the same direction. To the Gods of school, London, Christian, and Aiden. They always waited for them to go to class first and then everyone walk behind them. It was like they were the bell, and we just had to go when they went. My first class was physics Mr. Henry never said anything mean to me but he always got after every other kid in class for not doing their work.
"Mrs. Silva I need for you to sit in the back today, we have a student teacher coming to observe." Mr. Henry said and point to the back where the empty chair was at, and it was next to Aiden.
"Yes Sir" I said shaking at the same time.
I took medication for my anxiety, in pre-school a lot of horrible things happened to me and I never got over my anxiety.
I grabbed my books and sat next to Aiden without saying a word, he looked at me for a split second, but I never dared to look.
"What are you doing in that seat?" He asked me.
When my nerves grew out on me i would shake tremendously.
"I..well..Mr. Henry.. He uh" I could never get the right words out when anyone spoke to me.
"He what?" He had a smirk as if he was making fun of me.
"He.. Sa.. Sat me ..herree" I managed to say.
I looked away with my face red of embarrassment. I felt like an idiot. He never said anything and he kept a blank expression. When the bell rang, I stood up and left quickly. The rest of the day went by a blur and I walked home enjoying the peace around me. When I walked into the house there were suit cases by the door and my parents sitting by the kitchen counter.
"Mom, dad, wants going on?" I asked.
"Sweetie I think you might wanna sit down for a bit." My mom said in a couscous voice.
"Look honey, me and your mom have accepted to work in New York for a year or so, and well one of my old friends from high school offered to take you in so you wouldn't be alone, in case of an anxiety attack. So you'll be staying with him and his family." He said.
"Dad I can take care of myself here, just let me stay, or why do you guys have to go? Just stay here or take me with you!" I whinnied.
"Oh sweetie we wish but we are going to have time over there to take you to school or anything, I'm afraid you're gonna have to stay here with his family." My mom said.
I wanted to burst out crying or with anger but I couldn't. They were my family and I would never agree if it wasn't going to make them happy. So I agreed and went to pack my stuff.
I packed everything I needed, clothes, my electronics, toiletries, and I wanted to pack myself but I couldn't. On the drive to the mans house, I listened to music till we got there. The house or mansion I should say was enormous, it was a rich cream color with brown, it was beautiful. We walked to the door but before we knocked a man in his 30's opened the door.
"Hey my main man, how's it going?" He said and gave my dad a bear hug.
"I'm good how are you? I came to drop off my daughter." My father said and pointed to me.
"Oh well, I'm good" he said and looked at me.
"We'll take good care of her, don't you worry, honey, come over her and say hello to the Silvas!" He said with a big smile.
A lady around her 3o's as well came with a huge smile.
"Oh my goodness, you must be brooklyn, i heard so much about you!" She gave me a welcoming hug, she smelled absolutely so wonderful I never wanted to let go.
"Well my boy and girl are up stairs I'll introduce them to you in a bit, but come in!" She said and moved her hands in a 'come in' motion.
I hugged my mom and dad so tight and said I loved them and my goodbyes as did the people which I didn't know their name.
I walked inside and took my stuff with me, with the man helping me. We walked up a huge stair case which lead to 6 floors. We stopped on the 4 floor and into a huge room.
"This is your room, I filled it clothes, I never had an older daughter so I decided 'why the hell not?' haha I'm so sorry, and I got you a desk and a lamp and whatever you need in the restroom it's there." She said to me.
"Thankyou so much, you really didn't have to, I'm sorry to say but I don't know your names." I said, quite embarrassed.
"I'm so sorry how rude we never introduced ourselves." She looked at her husband.
"Im Melissa Parker and my husband is Robert Parker." She said.
When she said Parker I hoped not to be in the same house as the other Parker as in Aiden Parker. Jesus Christ if you love me please do not let me be in the same house as him. I wouldn't survive your test! I really hope for my sake that if he is in this house he isn't a jerk to me.
They left me to get settled and i absolutely loved my new room, it was 3 times bigger then my normal room back home. I was really hurt my parents were leaving me for a whole year but they promised to call and check up on me. i was mostly hurt they didn't take me.
As i finished getting settled in i decided to work on my homework and read for a bit, it was the only thing that i knew would calm me down. i was just about to read my book , when i heard a knock on my door.
"come in!" i said.
The door opened slowly and Aidens face was all i saw and i choked and started to cough really hard.
"hey, are you okay?" he asked holding his hands up in a weird way as if he didn't know what to do. Moron.
i sobered up from the cough attack, embarrassed of what i just did in front of him.
"My mom said for me to call you down, dinners ready, do you know the way down?" he smirked.
did he really just smirk?
i nodded and i soon regretted it. i don't even have a clue to go downstairs, this house was huge.
"alright" he said and walked out chuckling softly.
When he left I slapped my head, and decided to take on the maze.
