Tashigi's breath was taken away by the image of Smoker's bleeding face, laying down in front of her block. The freezing cold was soaking through her bones, because she was wearing a thin sweater. Hot steam was coming out her mouth, with every heavy breath she took. Her lungs filled with cold air, as she was analyzing the situation she was in. There were two options, and not much time left. However, the third option would be to the police on Akainu, but since he was the chief of the police himself, there were no chances that the dispatcher would believe her. So, she could either run away and hide, or confront Akainu with the help of her boss. However, any decision she took, would have included her seeing if Smoker was okay, so she ran to him and called his name, but he only twitched his fingers, and looked into her eyes.

"Just run..." he muffled, coughing blood.

"I'm not leaving you here, he's gonna kill you and he'll get away with it!" Tashigi tried to pick him up from the ground, although she knew that would cost her more time. There was no doubt that Smoker couldn't fight for her, but she didn't like the idea of running away.

"It was my fault." he forced his breath. "You don't have to do this..."

Sakazuki finally reached the two, and frowned at them with a very disappointed look on his face. It was as if they committed the worst crime of them all, and that they should be punished, when in reality, he was just exaggerating.

"Tashigi, dear! What are you doing outside? Aren't you cold?" he slowly walked down to her, with a large grin on his face. She was still trying to hold up the white haired man.

"Cut the crap, you moron! Leave us alone." she snapped.

"Or what? You're gonna report me?"

Tashigi was absolutely infuriated, and all that anger and fear pushed her into getting Smoker's gun out of his security guard, and pointing it at the threatening man. She hasn't held a pistol before, and her hands were shaking on the cold metal, praying that it had a trigger lock; she didn't want to accidentally kill him if her fingers were to slip out. Her boss was trying to stop her, but she stood up and took a few steps back.

"Stay where you're at. Do not come any closer." she ordered.

"You know, I actually thought you did a really great job." Akainu stopped for a moment and crossed his arms.

She tried to stay focused, but just as her hands were trembling, holding the pistol up, so were her legs, and her whole body shivering from the cold.

"If you would've cut ends with this bastard, I could've promoted you way earlier."

"Too bad I wasn't looking forward to it." her voice was shaking too. Akainu took a step closer, and the woman gulped in fear. "I said stay back!" she yelled. At this point, she was hoping to wake up her neighbors, even though she wasn't on good terms with any of them. And on top of that, the stray dogs kept barking and growling every time one of them would make a sudden move. The area was known for its high crime rate, and none of them seemed to care. Events like this would happen almost every night, and it became a routine even.

She glanced down at Smoker, who was still laying on the ground. An idea crossed her mind, but it was extremely risky. However, time was running, and her boss needed help, as well as herself.

"Look, what about we make a deal?" Tashigi yelled, the more she talked, the more her voice would make her sound scared.

"Go ahead. I'm actually curious to see how your rational thinking works."

His words were sending her through the roof, but she had to keep herself calm. She wasn't used to situations like these, and she couldn't screw up, risking her life.
