Summary:
Jack Hudson. A hopeless romantic of a boy. Sarah Lark. A dreamy, distant girl in red shoes. One night, one ordinary dorm party, for their lives to intertwine. Except it just so happens that this absent-minded Cinderella forgot her shoe and this Prince Charming must absolutely find her again. The only trouble is that in this fairy-tale, the princess could be anywhere in the world. And so forty-eight hours later, Jack begins his long and perilous journey to find true love and boards the plane to Paris. But life has a way of twisting things, and as he wanders from city to city, collecting memories, he finds something he didn't even know he was looking for: himself.
Author's Note:
Hi guys! So I know what you must be thinking: not another story! I know, I know, I have a bad habit of starting things and not finishing them. But to tell you the truth, this story isn't exactly new. I actually started this much before Autumn Leaves but didn't post it because:
a) I got a lot of writer's block at the beginning
b) It was all in my notebook and I didn't feel like typing it out
c) I didn't want to post just one chapter then give up
So, I actually started writing this last summer (but more really towards Christmas), and planning it last spring. As for the idea, it came to me two years ago, at the height of my obsession for red shoes. So, like I said earlier, this idea is not new. And I'm actually terrified of messing it up. You know how there are two kinds of ideas? Like, sometimes, you get an idea, fall in love with it 'at first sight', then realize you don't like it that much? But this idea is the second kind. I've grown more and more attached to it. I didn't start writing it because I was 'in the mood', the plot had been swimming in my head for almost a year, and with that plot, the characters. So I haven't even finished writing them and I'm already really attached to them.
The only tricky part is that given that I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself, I'm getting a crazy amount of writer's block. So I just need to let myself go a bit. For now, I've got 4 or 5 chapters in my notebook, and I'm almost done typing out chapter 1.
So, I'm a bit stuck with it at the moment, and I'll begin posting what I've already written once I've gotten past that. Thank you so much for bearing with me! I don't have a lot of time to write, but I'm hoping to finish this book by the end of 2015 (it was actually one of my resolutions this year...)
Love,
