Y/N'S POV

I woke up with a start. The sun was still high in the sky and villagers were busy in their daily routines. A look at the town helped me realize something wasn't right. Everyone was different than I remember. They were not mom, they were not dad, and this place definitely wasn't home. I ran into a worried looking young boy staring right at me, with blonde hair and blue eyes. His expression turned to curiosity. "Who are you?" I was so confused, so alone, and very afraid. His question sent me into a fit of tears, confused about what was going on. He wasn't exactly sure how to deal with a crying girl, but he was definitely going to try. He hugged me. It was nice, and warm. The warmth helped slow my tears, as I actually started to take notice of the boy. He seemed a year older than me, maybe 13? He patted my head after my tears stopped. He smiled, puffing his chest.

"I'm Link! I'm going to be a master swordsman one day!" He beamed, using a stick to poke the sky. His enthusiasm brought out a giggle, and I promptly told him my name. After a few moments, my focus turned to a little girl and her father. She seemed really sad, so I ran to her.

"I'm Y/N... I can help you." My confidence was kind of surprising, but I stuck with it. She looked at her father, then to me. She held a broken egg-like creature with legs in her arms. A stream of purple came from my hands, enclosing the egg. It made a little sound, then it looked like the eye came on, the purple now fading away as the blue glow of the egg brightened. The girl was in shock, but was really happy.

"How'd you... Terrako!" The egg seemed to happily chirp as it hopped out her hands and circled my legs. "My name is Zelda! How did you help Terrako?" I didn't know. The only notable thing felt was energy leaving me, but that never explained how. The father watched intently at the two of us, and ordered the knights to take me with them. Link clung onto me.

"If she goes I'm coming too!" The man looked troubled for a moment, then a woman similar to Zelda stepped toward everyone.

"You may come too, little one. It'll be nice for Zelda to have some company." So off us three went from the small Hateno Village. After I arrived, I was questioned about my interaction with Terrako, and of my family. I knew nothing. So, it was decided I'd try to activate that ability again. A few weeks passed, totaled with strenuous attempts with no result, I was ready to give up. But, the spark of purple showed that there was at least a tiny sliver of progress. About a year and a half past that day, here I sat with young boys training to be knights. Next to me was my favorite, Link. It was unclear why I was the only girl in training, but I was a force to be reckoned with. My skill in lance and archery was unmatched, while Link was unmatched in his swordsmanship. He was always one to take up a challenge, which was the best thing about sparring him. Sparring would turn into a circle of other knights watching Link and I with great interest. One day while doing my knightley test in the training grounds, I was facing a Stalnox. I aimed my bow at its eye, only for the stupid thing to break. Only the knights and Link were there to watch me, but it was embarrassing to lose my bow.

The Stalnox used this opening to swing at me, effectively throwing me to the wall. The impact caused me to cough up blood, which was dripping from my mouth as I took my stance once more. The commander was about to call off the test, but no way were I going to fall behind after I have gotten so far. The Stalnox glowed purple for a moment, and the bone began to crack. It was falling. This would be fine if Link hadn't stubbornly decided to help me. He was running to save me, but he was in immediate danger himself. He was about to be crushed.

In what seemed to be seconds, I screamed and reached towards the monster that was about to fall on my friend. I threw what I thought was my spear into the creature's eye.

Shock knocked everyone at that moment, including Link. Hearing a clang of metal after I'd unballed my first, I realized I had been holding the spear.

The Stalnox screeched in pain, holding its eye with what seemed to be a purple blade with a golden handle sheathed into it.

I did that, didn't I?
