A week had passed since I told Taavin to arrange a meeting, that meant I had roughly 3 weeks to somehow learn to defend myself. I had saved up enough money and had joined a gym to keep myself in shape, but so far, I had no clue what I was doing. I was thinking I could somehow outmatch them, but now that I think about it, it's a Mafia, they aren't coming without backup. The safest thing to do would be to hear them out, maybe it would benefit me? But I should still have some sort of plan, if I can't outmatch them physically, maybe I could outsmart them somehow...
I pull out an old laptop my uncle had gotten me a couple years ago, I had kept it in the attic just in case I'd ever need to sell it for some money. I do remember this old friend I had, he had taught me the basic coding stuff, but that was years ago, I didn't even remember any of it.
Wait.
Last time I saw him was years ago and he was really good at hacking, he's probably even better now...maybe I could ask him for help?
Yes. That's exactly what I'll do. My brain started ticking and I suddenly had an amazing idea. With his help, I could hack into the Mafia's database and find out some kind of weakness they may have, something I could use to my advantage in case something went wrong.
I scrambled into my room tripping over things strewn across the room to the box I kept under my bed. I take it out and dump all its contents out onto my bed and finally I find his number. I dial the number into my phone praying that I have enough credit to make the call and that he'll pick up. Just as I'm about to give up, the line on the other end picks up.
'Hey Marc..it's Vi, I need your help.'
