Before I knew it I woke up and it was 1 in the afternoon.  I was surprised no one came to wake me up.

I got out of bed, got dressed and went to go see where everyone was and to my surprise no one was home.

I found a note from Joe It said:

Thanks for taking care of things last night.

We went down to the beach, if you want to join.

There is some lunch in the fridge if you want it.

                                                                        See you soon.

                                                                        Joe+Britt

Wow if I can get to sleep in late for helping Max, maybe I will do it more often.

I went and ate the lunch Joe made for me and then went to the beach to find them.  They were by the water trying to introduce Sophie to it, but it didn’t look like it was going to well.

“Hey guys.” I said.

“Well look who decided to join the living.” Britt said sarcastically.

“Oh ha-ha, very funny.  What’s on the agenda for tonight since I basically slept most of the day?” I asked.

“How’s a barbeque and fire sound?” Asked Joe.

“Sounds great.” I said.

“Ok, in a few hours we will be ready for you, so go have some fun.” Said Britt.

As soon as I heard the words ‘go have fun’ I was gone.

I spent some time with Chelsea and her summer bf.  But I saw no sign of max.  That seemed like heaven that he wasn’t around.

We hung around until I had to leave and get back.  As much as I wanted to stay I said I would be there.

“I’m here!” I yelled so they could hear me.

“Great just in time, come on.” Said Britt.

“OMG you guys, this is so awesome.” I said excitedly.

“Good, now let’s eat.” Said Joe.

We all got our favorite foods and went off to eat.  I was so surprised at the spread of food they had that I didn’t care who saw me eat.

We spent about an hour eating and laughing about what has happened so far.  Britt and I cleaned up and got Sophie to bed while Joe got the fire started.  It was about quarter after eight when we finished and got outside.

We were all sitting around the fire, Joe and Britt in their chairs and I was lying on the ground just because I knew Joe would not approve.

Finally I hear what I dreaded all night, the sound of Max’s voice.

“Hey, party time!” He shouted and with that he was lying on the ground right next to me ‘great’ I thought.

“So dad, what’s the celebration for?” Max asked Joe.

“Well nothing.  It’s just a fire.” Joe answered.

Max really didn’t care or pay attention because he just decided to follow Britt and talk to her.
