Chapter 13: Backfired

Brice's POV
Shit! I forgot to tell them that he had fast reflexes! A bit too fast, must I say. I ran to my little sister until someone pushed me into the water, which I knew was my Father, and then I heard Kiki scream. I immediately rose to land and snatched Kiki from my father's grasp, handing her to the bear. "What the fuck, Brice?!" He hollered, I squinted at him, then punched him right in the nose. Down, down, down the blood went. From his nose, to his mouth, to his chin. He was pissed. He clenched his fist and stood up, then swung. I flew back, hitting my head on the wall in the process. It was blurry. I was light headed. Soon enough, I passed out.

Captain Barnacles's POV
I held Kiki in my arms as she cried. I witnessed her brother physically injure his father, then the father hit back, and he passed out. I immediately called over Peso as he brought Brice to the sick bay, and I called Kwasii to take Kiki to her room and stay with her, just in case things got.. messy. "You're not taking my daughter, stupid bear!" I pushed him back; he was too close to my face. "First, personal space. Second, you literally abandoned and kidnapped Kiki! There's no way I'd lend her back to you!" He tried to swing, but I quickly got a hold of his fist and pushed him back once again, which made him fall into the water. Just moments later, we heard cries of agony and fear. Kiki..

Kwasii's POV
I brought Kiki to her room immediately as she cried. I tried calming her down, but she kept crying. She started shaking, and a few moments later, she screamed and cried of fear and agony. I decided to hug her as the captain immediately came to check on what's going on. The captain came in, concerned. So did Peso and Shellington. She whined and held her arm tightly. "Hey, Kiki. It'll be okay, alright? Lemme examine it for you." Peso attempted comforting her, but she just sniffled in return before uncovering her arm to reveal.. A massive cut on her wrist. Peso seemed quite uneased at the situation, and took Kiki to the sick bay. She was terrified of this scenario..

And it felt like there was nothing we could do to help her...

Sorry this chapter was quite short! I'll try to think of other chapter ideas during the weekend, but it's just been a very stressful week and I'm glad I could get this chapter in before anything got worse.
