We Are Tied

Kanes graduation

The dress picking ended after 3 hours of searching and she decided on the black and white dress. It wraps around her waist nicely and doesn't show cleavage; so, it was something that we both agreed on. She was standing in the doorway of my house with one hand on her waist and the other on the door frame.

Kane laughs," do I look that good?"

Gabby," yeah."

Kane," oop, thanks I guess. We can go now, I'm ready."

Gabby gets up from the couch.

Gabby," alright, let's get going before we are late." Gabby reached her hand out for Kane to intertwine her hand with hers.

Gabby POV

We get in the car and drive to school. The event starts and I just stand in my spot admiring Kane from afar for the duration of it. After, I bring all of Kane's things to the backseat of the car and we leave toward the park. My mom accompanied us to the park and offered to take pictures.

Mom," girls, scooch closer. Hug or something for the photo."

I awkwardly swing my arm over to Kane's shoulder and smile at her. She looks up at me and smiles then, she puts her arm around my waist. It was really funny to remember our height difference.

Mom smiled and cheered," cheese!"

We look facing the camera and smile. We let go of our embrace and walked over to my mom. We were both very red. I couldn't decide whether I liked it or was embarrassed by it.

The sun was shinning to its hottest point. We were in the steamy car, waiting to leave the crowded parking lot. My mom had her ear buds in and couldn't hear mine and Kane's conversation.

Kane accidentally moans from the heat. My mind freezes and my head quickly swung right to look at Kane. She is red and can't seem to look up from the embarrassment.

I knew that Kane hated heat, and summer; but, this reaction was a bit drastic. Why did she moan in that way? But most importantly, why did my mind immediately go to those thoughts?

Kane raises her head and takes a deep breath, while fanning her face quickly.

Kane says," oof, it's hot today!"

I come back to my senses and my face returns to its natural tone," oh yeah. It is heh."

Kane POV

Why did that sound leave my mouth?! All I did was think of Gabby in a suit! Oh my gosh... this is so embarrassing. I feel her gaze stare through me. I had raised my hand to my mouth from the shock. Quickly, I find a way to distract Gabby from it.

All I could come up with was that it was hot... really? Oh my gosh, can these cars hurry up and move so we can go home!

Back to Gabby's POV

The cars move and a while later we are able to get out of the parking lot. We get home and as soon as my mom unlocks the door Kane runs to our room and I go to the bathroom.

My mom shouted from the kitchen," what happened to Kane?"

I respond," I'm not sure..."
