Prologue

Prologue ------

I stood silently in the doorway, watching everything go down. Nathan screaming in my brothers face and then at my best friend as he tried to calm Nath down. It was insane. Nath didn't need to do this. I explained to him and told him a million times that I was fine. But he doesn't listen. Jeez that boy and his selective hearing. 

I looked over at my best friend, which happened to be Nath's bandmate, Jay. I gave him an apologetic smile and walked off. I knew Nath would eventually cool off. May take a few weeks. And it definately wouldn't happen with me around.

I packed my bags and headed for the door, only to be stopped by Max.

"Where ya going?" He asked, looking down at my bags.

"Out," I said. "Now step aside."

I tried to nudge past him but to no avail.

"Tell me," he said, giving me the puppy dogs eyes he'd mastered at. I sighed in defeat. I couldn't say no to him in general.

"Nath didn't listen to me," I said. "I know he'll calm down but there's no way he will with me around. So I'm going to stay with my friend for however long it takes for him to chill. Okay?"

Before he could answer, I was out the door and packing up my car. When done, I drove to my friend Alexa's house. I already called her and asked if I could stay. She said yes. 

Little did I know that she was about to change on me as well.
