05120523 - if u could see me cryin' in my room
When Hyejin rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night, Wheein had already fallen asleep with Yongsun and Byulie sitting by her bed.
"Unnies, how is she?" Hyejin asked in between gasps for air. Her heart beat fast, not sure because she had tried to run like she was running for her life, or because of worrying for her best friend's life.
"She's fine now. Just fell asleep after we got here." Yongsun said and stroked Wheein's hair gently, afraid of waking her up. The oldest looked exhausted, while on the other hand, Byulie couldn't hide her anger.
"I can't even count how many times this has happened. And how many more will this happen." Byulie grunted.
It hadn't been the first time they were in this situation so they didn't even have to ask to know what had happened. However it always felt like the first time, with Yongsun worrying but still trying to stay calm, Hyejin crying in silence and Byulie being mad every single time. Hyejin was furious too, but she understood that she shouldn't add insult to injury because who would know what Byulie might be capable of.
"I'll take over, you guys can go rest now." Hyejin said as she sat down next to the bed and carefully held Wheein's hand. She almost cried when she saw the needle stuck to the back of her hand. The tiny needlestick injuries from those times Wheein had been here hadn't even healed completely.
Yongsun sighed and her hand fumbled uneasily, "I'll stay. I won't be able to sleep anyway."
Hyejin glanced at her. Today her leader didn't seem to be able to stay calm as usual. Maybe she had used up all of her energy to try easing the mood for everyone those last times. Hyejin reached out and lightly squeezed Yongsun's shoulder with her free hand, "You look terrible, Yongsun unnie. We can't stand another collapse right now. So please, do me a favour and go get some sleep. Byulie unnie, you too."
Byulie quietly nodded and pulled Yongsun's forearm to ask for her to stand up and go with her. Yongsun, even though still hesitating, finally stood up and walked outside of the room.
"We'll go get some coffee and snacks then come back to take turns looking after Wheeinie." Byulie said to Hyejin while closing the door.
Hyejin reluctantly nodded to assure both her unnies.

"Tae!"Hyejin was woken up by a tight squeeze on her hand and Wheein's voice calling a name that she shouldn't say at all.
"He's not here, Wheeinie. It's only me." She replied immediately and placed her other hand on Wheein's to reassure her. Hyejin almost let out her sarcastic voice hearing the name that had been absentmindedly uttered out of Wheein's mouth; fortunately she could stop it in time. Even though she had ended up in the hospital room like this, her best friend wouldn't let anyone talk ill of him. It would only hurt her more, and Hyejin could never let that happen.
Wheein looked around confusedly like she was looking for a certain someone before her eyes landed on Hyejin. Just then her tears started to fall uncontrollably, and Hyejin's bitterness disappeared right away.
"Hyejinie, I miss him."
Hyejin's heart clenched hard at Wheein's confession. She hated that her best friend still loved that guy, and she hated that Wheein had made herself busy with work until falling sick, and then collapsing because she couldn't get him out of her head. What she hated the most was that she couldn't do anything to change this. No matter what she said, Wheein would still be heart broken.
She moved to sit on the bed and hold Wheein in her arms, "Shhh, don't cry no more. I got you, you don't need him." Hyejin kept rocking her back and forth and rubbed her back until her sobs grew softer and finally stopped.
