Heading to Norway

Three weeks had come and gone agonizingly slow after the bar incident. Loki had spent most of the time staying indoors, usually in his room reading books. He had gotten out with Thor a couple of times to walk around the city and visit Thor's favorite places, and he had also spent time around the other avengers watching movies or eating meals. But most days he was content with sitting on his bed or in his room with an reading.

But today there was different plans. According to Thor, the new place for the Asgardians was ready and they were to help Fury with whatever it was he needed help with. If he was being honest with himself, he was actually quite excited to see the new place and how his people would like it.

A knock sounded on his door and shook him from his thoughts.

"Who is it?" he called, already knowing it was Thor.

"Brother!" Thor barged in, a smile on his face. "Today is the day! I am very excited and I hope you are too!"

Loki couldn't help but smile. "Yes, I am. Are we ready to leave yet?"

"Almost. Tony is preparing the Quinjet and we shall arrive at the temporary housing area to help load everything and everyone onto the Helicarrier. If you're ready, let's go downstairs."

Loki nodded and stood up from his bed and followed Thor to the elevator and down to the living room. A few people sat on the couches and sofas, some on their phones and others watching a huge tv that sat on the wall.

"Nice of you to join us," Clint said sarcastically as he munched on a bagel, the crumbs going everywhere. Loki scrunched his nose in disgust.

"Clint, knock it off," Steve snapped. "Tony says everything will be ready in about five minutes."

Loki nodded and moved to sit on the couch—specifically the one Clint was not on. Thor followed suit.

Natasha rounded the corner of the room and walked in, a piece of toast in her hand. Her hair was pulled up in a ponytail and she wore tight black jeans and a tshirt with a jacket. Loki looked away from her and at the tv instead, pretending that she was nothing of interest.

"Morning, Nat," Clint said, brushing the crumbs off of the couch. He sat up a bit. "What took you so long to get down here?"

"I was finishing a workout and then I took a shower," she replied, sitting next to him and finishing her toast.

The two of them continued talking until Tony walked in a few moments later, a smile on his face. "Is everyone ready? It's time to go."

The flight to the field was quiet. Thick tension and awkward silence filled the air, along with Clint's soft snores that came from some corner of the jet where he sat. Everyone else was wide awake and waiting in anticipation.

Natasha took a deep breath to calm herself. She didn't quite understand why, but her heart was racing. On top of that, Clint's snores were beginning to annoy her; Bruce's foot bouncing up and down was agitating her; and Steve's concerned glances were getting on her nerves. She looked across from where she sat and made eye contact with Loki who quickly looked away from her before she could react. Maybe she was upset because she wasn't the one flying the jet? Or maybe it was because she needed to get out of the tower more. She didn't know.

Natasha bit the inside of her cheek, turning her eyes to the floor. Today was going to be stressful. There was so much work to do, so many things to pack and load onto the Helicarrier. Then there was the pressure of getting every single Asgardian safely to Norway. Luckily Fury and his other agents would take care of that.
