Her parents, the two people who she thought were madly and deeply in love, were now getting divorced. At first, she didn't get many subscribers, but by the time she was 16 she had almost 2 million. Now, at 17 she has 3.5 million. It's funny how quickly the internet chooses to fall in love with a girl as she inches closer and closer to 18.
000, BUT Valentina had no interest in the media, she had no interest in making videos people found entertaining. No, Valentina did not want to expose her life to the world, she wanted to play a character and the older Valentina got, the better she was at playing characters. There were 3 versions of Valentina, such as the funny, bubbly Valentina that the world saw in all of her YouTube videos. She even had friends who only knew of this Valentina. And then there was the bitter Valentina, the one who resented her parents and was already planning her escape. And finally, there was the true Valentina, the same person she was the day before she turned 13, the same person she was in ink on paper. The person only Kit knew.
000, KIT Connor played Nick Nelson in Heartstopper and officially had his 'big break' - sure, he had acted in a few things before Netflix got a hold of him, but now he practically had casting directors knocking his door down. Kit was fun and loveable, he firmly believed that love was real and he firmly believed he was in love. His pen-pal, Valentina, left him craving the ability to meet her, to speak to her, to see her. He yearned for her to be more than simple words on a piece of paper.
000, SO, when Valentina is finally given the opportunity to play a true character, she instantly accepts the offer. Originally, her mother is concerned at how this could affect Valentina, stating that her daughter should be more focused on school than anything else. But when Valentina reminds her mother of how much money they could make from this, her mother finally gives in and agrees.
