When he was finally calm enough to ease the redness of his face, Morisuke took the boys to the counter to get his orders to-go. He thanked the barista and the cashier with a shy smile. The boys were more lively in grinning and thanking them.
He cleared his throat and took all the courage he could have to tell the cashier, "Please let the owner know that I'll see him later."
The friendly staff smiled and accepted the request, waving to the little ones goodbye.
Lev was given the message and decided he should text his boyfriend.
~You win, I'm exhausted from our late night rendezvous.~ (sent)
~Would it be alright if you stayed the night at my place this time, Netflix and cuddle? ~ (sent)
~chill optional~ (sent)
~when you come back to the cafe, just tell them your name and they'll let come to the back office~ (sent)
Morisuke waved at Ginji and Ban as they were walking away with their respective parents. He had to discuss what had happened at school and at the cafe to the fathers as part of the school's Standard Operating Procedure, also explaining to them that the kids had made up. Both fathers apologized to Morisuke and to each other before taking their sons home. Upon checking his watch, Morisuke realized that it's already 7:15 pm. He immediately checked on his phone and cursed when he saw the message sent by Lev more than almost two hours ago. He immediately dialed his number as he was walking into the building.
A movement to his right caught his attention but when he checked, nothing was there so he just shrugged and entered the building, immediately locking the doors behind him with the phone still pressed against his ear.
Lev was in the back office, when Ryuuki's pleasing voice chimed in, "Hey, Lev Sweetie. I'm here. Is everything ok?" He was putting his best effort to stay positive that this wouldn't be another 'I'm feeling guilty let's end our agreement chat'. As he walked in and sat on the desk in front of Lev, Lev's phone buzzed with a phone call, but he swiped it so fast Ryuuki couldn't see who it was.
Lev didn't look at the call contact. He had swiped it fast to end the call and place the phone face down on the desk. He needed to focus, he stood up and shut the door, it clicked. "Ryuuki, I-" Lev was cut off by Ryuuki, who had followed him to the door, and had now effectively cornered him.
Ryuuki spoke seductively, "You know I was so worried about you when you didn't answer my text last night. I almost went to your apartment. I mean I know we have our usual Sunday plans, but I really missed seeing... mmm... ALL of you-" Ryuuki placed his hands on Lev's chest and had started sliding them up when he was cut off.
"Ryuuki, stop. Stop. Listen please." Lev took Ryuuki's hands gently, he didn't want to hurt him, he took them off his chest and let them go.
"Sweetie, you're scaring me, what's wrong?" Please, Gods above, I don't want this to be another argument but I don't want it to be anything worse, why do I feel like it's worse.
"Ryuuki I, I need to, I thought... I have to tell you in person, it is the right thing to do with all we've shared the past 6 years." Lev's breath was uneven, he felt like a child, overwhelmed by too many emotions.
"Calm, sweetie, breathe. You can tell me anything. You know that. I'm here, it's ok." Ryuuki went to wrap his arms around Lev like he normally would.
"Ryuuki! I said to stop." Lev didn't shout, he never shouted, but his voice was stern and pained. This was going to hurt him too.
