𝑯𝒆𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒆!
This is a project that I've been working on for school for a few weeks, and I decided that I wanted to share it with the community!
That being said, I do want to make a few things clear before the story begins :D. Firstly, this is a retelling of the Hindu legend, Satyavan and Savitri, which tells the story of Savitri who cleverly uses her three wishes from Dharmaraj, the God of Death, to win back Satyavan's soul after he dies. I have been playing around with my idea to retell this story, so not everything will be like the original.
Also, the geography in this story is not accurate. I have had to cluster a few towns together to make Mt. Kailash seem more attainable but I have tried to make the towns as close to description as they were in books and pictures, both old and new.
There may be some words in Hindi that I have spelled wrong or I either do not know the word for. If you catch one of these, just comment it! I'm trying to be as accurate as I can remember from my classes but I make mistakes!
This story has a mix of different legends and myths together, so they aren't all in the same timeline. I would also like to add that this work is purely just a work of fiction. It came out of my imagination and desire to write a retelling of a legend, so please do not say that I have gotten some parts of the legend wrong. They are just my tweaks and twists.
Finally, THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT!! I have yet to edit the story and I plan to split the chapters up, so please do not tell me that the chapters are too long.
