The Chosen One: Dark Disease Book 1

The magical town of Quartz was once so peaceful. Gideon Kingston and his wife Odette Kingston lived their lives protecting Quartz from Dark magic. They fought against any dark force that entered their hometown. They were the most powerful wizard and witch when it came to light magic.

Two kinds of magic existed in the magic world. There was light magic which was good and pure. Then there was dark magic which was evil and dangerous.

Though they were the most powerful in light magic, Gideon and Odette were no match for the most powerful of dark magic. The town called this person The Dark One, nobody in Quartz knew his true identity but he instilled fear amongst all. This Dark One had taken many lives but the most memorable was when he took the lives of Gideon and Odette, who were murdered 10 years ago. The specifics on how they died was a mystery. The only thing that was known about how they died was that Dark Magic was used. The town of Quartz broke at the loss of their most beloved heroes.

The town began to question who could destroy the Dark One. If Gideon and Odette couldn't stop the Dark One, then who could. There was only one person who could stop him. The town referred to this person as the Chosen One. He was their only hope, the only way Quartz could ever feel safe again, the only way Quartz could be ridded from the Dark One and his dark magic.

When Gideon and Odette died, they left behind their three-year-old son, Aidan. He was the Chosen One. With both Gideon and Odette's powers combined into this child, he would be immensely powerful. Nobody knew if the Chosen One would be powerful enough to destroy the Dark One, but he was the only chance they stood. With such powerful parents there was really no telling how powerful he would become. The night his parents died; Aidan was there but he was spared. He survived. Why? That was a question only the Dark One knew the answer to.

Where did the Chosen One end up when his parents died? A couple by the names of Lindsay and Jessica Adams adopted Aidan. They were best friends with Gideon and Odette and were also godparents to Aidan. They welcomed Aidan into their home with their two older children, James, and Josie. The little boy with black hair and green eyes became Aidan Gideon Kingston Adams, the Chosen One.

After the death of Gideon and Odette, the Adams family didn't believe Quartz would be safe for Aidan, so they moved far away from their magical town into the world of Norms, the world of non-magical humans. Both Jessica and Lindsay became teachers in the Norms World, but James and Josie still attended boarding school in Quartz.

Aidan always felt he was different from his adopted siblings, and he was, but he never felt less loved because of it. In the Adams household, Lindsay and Jessica wanted Aidan to know his birth parents, and the incredible sacrifices they made, but they also wanted Aidan to feel just as loved as their biological children.

Aidan felt love and a sense of belonging in the Adams Household. He called Lindsay, mum and Jessica, mama. He always referred to Lindsay and Jessica as his parents, Gideon and Odette as his birth parents and his adoptive siblings as just his siblings.

Aidan didn't understand why he was considered the Chosen One. It was talked about with his parents, Lindsay, and Jessica but it still never made sense. His magic was clumsy and all over the place. He rarely succeeded with any spells or potions that he tried. He found it hard to believe that he was special.
