The moment I set foot inside the classroom, the first thing to greet me were the shrieks coming from a certain girl. Eyebrows creased, I made my way towards the crowd that had gathered in the centre of the girls side of the class, bag still over my shoulder.

"NO! I DON'T WANT TO SIT ANYWHERE ELSE! NO! I WANT TO SIT RIGHT HERE!"

Goodness gracious. What the Hell?

"Okay okay, then how about Nell here went to another seat? Perhaps then-"

"NO! I SAID NO MEANS NO! NELL SITS HERE WITH ME AND THAT'S IT!"

The voice earlier that tried to calm the shrieking girl was of a man, but who I couldn't tell. I wanted to know who was causing such a scene, so being taller than most of the girls in my class, I had a better view although I was at the back of the crowd.

It was Sandy.

Someone chuckled beside me, making me turn towards them and catching them stifling their laughter.

"What is going on?" I asked when I noticed it was Sofie, the sweet girl who is nice to literally everyone. It was her friend Meave who had been holding back her laughter.

Sofie shrugged, lips pressed into a tight smile. "What else? Laila wanted to mess around once again, only this time her target was a little too dangerous."

Laila? What does she have to do with this?

It was then I noticed Laila standing behind Sandy, a glare set on her face while her hands remained crossed over her chest, bag still slung over her shoulder. Beside her stood her mom and beside her stood another man, who must have been the one speaking earlier.

But wait...I recognize the man. I used to see him come by the class a lot last year.

Oh yeah. That's Patrick's dad.

What's Patrick's dad doing here?

I stared incredulously at the scene, trying to understand what in the devil's name was going on this early in the morning.

Perhaps the disgust was evident in my face, for Meave chuckled again, coming to my rescue. "Laila, like the troublemaker she is, decided it was okay to break Sandy's stereotype and sit beside Nell. But of course, Sandy wouldn't let her, not without a fight. So here we are, a freedom fighter fighting for justice."

I scoffed softly, watching as a flushed Nell tried to calm her sister, who was crying hysterically. "What's Patrick's dad doing here?"

"That's Patrick's dad?"

"Yeah."

Meave burst out grinning, covering her mouth with her hands to hide it. "How embarrassing. Of course he is here to end this trial. We need the jury after all."

"Who is he siding with?"

"Laila of course. Sindy is being immature."

I didn't really believe so.
