it was a cycle that they chased for each other, just to get back their initial love.
2 months later, the school hall was filled with laughters while the lights shone on the students. They were dressed up in tuxedos and pretty dresses for the most important day of their school life, prom night. Mr choi watched as his students stood by the table, chitchatting. He looked down with a sad smile and pictured how it'll be like if his lover was here in a beautiful dress.
The music softens and was changed to classic piano. "Let's welcome our prom king!", the speaker declared through the microphone on stage while the crowd cheered. Beomgyu didn't bother looking, he knew for sure it'll be yeonjun since he was the most popular. He sighed and thought about how if his students did not persuade him, he would not have attend this because he clearly knows it'll painfully remind him of her.
Yeonjun gracefully walks out to the stage with his blond hair styled. His appearance made the crowd gawked, perhaps it was because it has been two months since they saw those eyes sparkle again. He holds the mic in hand, and a flower on another, "I am choi yeonjun and sadly I'm not the highlight of the day.", he shrugged with a small smile on his lips. Yeonjun takes a deep breath before continuing, "As everyone knows, the infamous choi yeonjun would never go without his one and only partner in crime, Han Chaemin."
The special name made the uninterested teacher look up to the stage.
There she was.
Han Chaemin walked out in an elegant baby blue dress with glitter around the design of her waist. Choi Beomgyu's eyes never left her figure, he felt his heart beating against his chest and his throat had a sudden lump in it. Yeonjun passed her the flowers as she began her speech,
"I haven't been an ideal student throughout high school but the last year of it was the most impactful. I lost a lot of friends and a significant other but he taught me to be mature.", her eyes searched for the one she mentioned and when it landed on him, she grew a asymmetric smile with an expression of deep sadness pasted over her lips.
"Lastly, I've to thank my best friend for the unconditional support and protection regardless what happened to me. I know I would never be able to stand here with confidence if it wasn't for you.", Yeonjun gave her an assuring smile before wrapping his arms around her and received thundering applauds. He offered her his arm while they walked down to where the teachers and students were.The dance music began and everyone minded their own businesses. "I'm surprised you didn't ask soeun to be your partner.", she teased her best friend. "That's because he's been pretty miserable without you.", yeonjun side eyed the man that was still staring at them."Its time for you to get the closure you needed.", the man patted chaemin's shoulders, leaving a small peck on her forehead before giving her space to talk to the man she long for.
The moment chaemin lets out the deep breath she's been holding and turned to look at beomgyu, it was the cue for him to approach her. "How have you been?", he asked while looking at her with those innocent eyes that looked like they can never hurt anyone. "I went to new york and visited the places you studied at for those three years.", beomgyu was extremely touched that even when she left him, there was never once he left her mind. "I missed you.", the way it left his lips was beyond heartbreaking.
Beomgyu's eyes could not contain the tears and had them all poured out with his lips trembling. Several students were looking at their teacher but nothing can stop him from finally being able to be genuine to the girl he loves. "And I've always wanted to tell you how sorry I am.", he weakly holds her hand as if she was the most precious thing in the world.
"It's okay beomgyu, we're not together anymore.", even though her words were facts but they hurt more than anything.
"But you know I will always love you", his eyes were begging her with desperation to stay."Then why did you lie?", she asked. Chaemin was choking back tears as she refused to look at him. "Because I was afraid she would change your grades if she knew we were together. I promise I was going to shower you with love after I got mad about you sneaking out with yeonjun but when ms lee came into the picture, I knew I'd hurt you but I had to do what was best for your future."
Chaemin never hated him, she just needed time away and relationship gets stronger when there is sufficient space to solve the problems. The girl wiped his tears with her thumb as she caressed his cheek,"I'm sorry too for leaving without giving you a chance to explain. You must've been hurt too." Beomgyu shook his head with a final genuine smile, "I'll be fine as long as you're here with me."
||THE END||
Thank you for reading revindicate i like the last chapter best hehe. I really enjoyed writing this book and regardless of how it does it'll still be my favourite book to write. Lastly, please look forward to'tease game' that will really showcase yeonjun's protective personality. If you were wondering who soeun was from earlier, it's soobin's sister which yeonjun is head over heels for.
If only she knew her every smile was yeonjun's trophy.
"You're mine.", he grabbed her face, hand resting on her cheek as he engulfed her lips with his own.
In which Yeonjun is extremely protective towards soobin's precious sister and figures out his feelings by teasing her.
