I was spaced out, lost in my own thoughts, rethinking all the times that I had slipped up or made a fool of myslef, the pressure becoming too much. My heart beginning to race out of my chest as my body trembled.

"Y/N?" Steve questioned, looking over trying to get my attention, although I could hear him and he was close. He sounded so distant.

I continued to stare at a blank spot on the wall, in the room. My breath becoming shaky as everything seemed to blend together. The pleads of Steve trying to snap me out of it. The self doubt trying to take over and eveything rushing at me that I had never even thought of.

"I-I can't do this!" I exclaimed. Tears brimming in my eyes, clutching a hand to my chest as it felt tight.

"Whoa whoa, I've got you" Steve said in a kind tone, putting his muscular arm around my shoulder and pulling me into a tight but comforting hug.

I gasped for a breath. My breathing becoming laboured as eveything overwhelmed my mind.

"Y/N I know this is hard but I need to to listen to me. Listen to my voice", he spoke close to my ear, the sensation giving a form of solice.

I tried to speak but choked on my words, the cries getting louder as the panic went on, which only caused more distress, my knees going weak as my ability to stand left.

"Y/N" he started to speak again calmly, holding me up and close, running a hand through my hair "Listen to my heart, the calm steady beat."

As I managed to take a moment after hearing those words he was right. His heart was so steady, paced and somewhat seems to ease my pounding one.

"That's it great job!" He said optimistically giving positive reinforcement "Just a little more, you've got this" he added.

After a few moments everything fell into place, my heart slowed and matched the pace of his, as did my breathing, as if one solution was the awnser to the rest.

"Hey your doing good" he reassured as he took a few deep breath "Do it with me" he encouraged.

As instructed I copied his breathing to find that everything slowly turned back to normal. Only tears going down my cheeks but the panic seemed to calm.

"Y/N?" He questioned, as if expecting an awnser now.

I simply looked at him, making eye contact

"I'm so proud of you, that wasn't easy but you overcame it. Your stronger than you think" Steve stated with a grin. "Next time though, please do not be afraid to come to me" he reassured.
