Elijah Mikaelson is a patient man putting other people's needs above his own.
He however hold no patience towards them who defies him and his family or betrays them. They would die by his hands for nobody could harm his family and live nor those who he held close to him.
Well those who were not lovers.
Unlike his brother he believed love to be something spectacular that would overlap with his soul and he wouldn't realise he had it until he almost loses it.
That's the love Elijah wants he didn't think of it too much consider when he felt he had it they all died anyway.
He hoped and prayed for a day when he could have that love and it would feel the same way for the other person, and they didn't die this time.
Was that too much to ask for?

Alina Potter is an embodiment of self sacrificing herself to save others. Only she tried with her twin and failed and it costed him his life along with her amazing Sister in law.
She had tried to save James and Lily however she put her trust in someone she'll never forgive.
Peter Pettigrew and Albus Dumbledore.
So she would protect Harry and let him know all about his loving parents.
It was the least she could do.

Listening to Harry happily blabbering about some butterfly he found in the garden as Alina is clearing the garden and Mipsy is unpacking their stuff.
Smiling at the happy look on Harry's face.
She vowed she would never let anyone hurt him, not anymore at least.
She also vowed to get Sirius out of that hell hole. She would've stormed in there herself however she had Harry to worry about now alongside she was scared she couldn't produce her patronus. A lioness displaying that she loves fiercely being brave and hardworking, loving so fiercely that not even a lion would stop her.
However it wasn't enough, why is it never enough.
The defence against the dark arts class never ceased to amaze, today we were learning the patronus charm. The patronus charm takes the form of your spiritual animal that you most resemble deep down. It can also change due to life experiences and trauma or in the lucky case you've found your soulmate and your patronus matches theirs or yours changes to be more like them. There were studies showing it could have both of the personalities in one.
The patronus charm however lovely is used to fight off dementors soul sucking creatures that feed off the magic with a wizard/witches cores until they are rendered a squib or a muggle.
The patronus charm sends a powerful wave of magic over it asserting dominance in a way to send the foul creature away. The stronger the magic the better as too much magic can weaken a dementor.
They had been tasked to try and cast the charm that lesson however it isn't as easy as it sounds. First your core needs to be strong enough alongside having a powerful memory to release the spiritual animal.
"We got this!" Alina heard the group of marauders a band of pranksters her brother was a part of. Seeing Remus shake his head with a groan along with seeing James and Sirius high fiving.
Shaking her head amused she turned to her sister in all but blood, Lily Evans.
"You'll do fine." Lily assured making a smile appear on her face along with a slight blush. Alina liked Lily after she got to know her loving her for her kind personality with her quick temper to defend herself and the people she loves. She was glad she wasn't on the other end of her temper unlike her brother who had been infatuated with her since the beginning.
Alina let a memory come over her in waves like the rising sea slowing increase her amount of magic placed inside it.
"Expecto patronum" She muttered, her eyes closed, doing the wand movement. Peeking her eyes open to see a blue form of a lioness. Smiling in delight she looked at Lily who quickly beamed back.
How cruel fate was to have Lily have both Potters after her one who she actively knows about and the other watching on in hope.
Alina still remembers the day Lily chose without realising, the day she broke her heart.
