The blinding light of the sun beating through my window awakens me. It takes me a few seconds to notice the blaring alarm on my phone before finally picking it up and checking the time.
"What!?" I exclaimed. First day on the job and I'm already almost late. I had just gotten a new summer job at my local pizza place. Freddy Fazbears Pizza. Freddy's is infamous for having a rancid smell throughout the restaurant and constant malfunctions with the robots. But what can I say? It's a kid's place and it has a budget lower than rock bottom itself. Mayhaps the smell is from rotten pizza, vomit, crap.. Gee, god knows at this point. Getting up from my bed, I ran to my closet to get my security uniform and name tag. My name is Jeremy Elbertson, but my buddies just call me Jerma. I finally got ready, but there was one thing missing. My badge. I tore the room apart trying to find my badge. But then I remembered I will be receiving it at the establishment. Taking my keys with me, I leave the house and get in my car, driving off to the pizzeria.
Right as I walk in, I am immediately greeted with a blast of cold air. I see a man walk out of a hallway, heading towards the exit. He passes by me, leaving the restaurant and walking towards his car. To my left, I notice another man sitting at one of the dining tables, three animatronics stand tall on a stage behind him, all appearing to be deactivated.
"Greetings, Mr. Elbertson." says the man, "My name is Dream, and I will be showing you the basics of how things are gonna be going 'round here, ya got that?"
The man, who refers to himself as "Dream" is a tall man who wears a green hoodie overtop his uniform. Dream.. What an odd name. Must be some form of alias, I bet."Yes, Mr. Dream" I responded. The cold air crawls up my arms, leaving goosebumps in their wake. "It's a bit chilly in here, isn't it?" I chuckled nervously, trying to lighten up the gloomy, dark atmosphere.
"The temperature must remain low because when the restaurant opens, kids will be all over the place. Yeah, it's gonna get pretty hot in here. Low temperatures balance it out." Dream says. I nod my head and look outside to see the man who had just passed by me earlier. He seemed to be struggling to get in his car.
"Oh, for Pete's sake." Dream shoved past me to assist the man. I thought he was going to be showing me the works, but I guess that would have to wait. I took the time to explore the restaurant while I could. Approaching the stage, I see the three animatronics, high and mighty. A bear, chicken, and a rabbit. Closely examining all of them, I begin to sense the smell that I must have been hearing of. It's a mix of blood, sweat, and vomit. Heh, that sounds almost like a song title. Gosh, I'm getting distracted. I turn to see what looks like a curtain with a sign reading "Out of Order". I curiously open the curtain and there I see a fourth animatronic. A fox. Look at him... God, I just wanna yif-
"I see you've met Foxy." I hear a voice. I turn around and I'm greeted with Dream's face, mere inches from mine. "He's quite the popular fella, isn't he? A fan favorite, if you will. He's outta order 'cuz the adults kept on...Ya know what, let me just...Do what I am supposed to do." I follow Dream around the restaurant as he shows me how things would be working in the restaurant.
"By the way," he said, "Watch out for any lil' kids tryna get into parts and service, the kitchen, Pirate's Cove, etcetera. Those kids could climb up the walls if they could. Thank god we lubed 'em up - I mean - changed the material to prevent such things from happening." Dream points up to the ceiling where the wall met it to see vulgar images drawn. Who teaches this to their kids!?
"I.. think I understand everything I need to know." I said to Dream. To tell the truth, I really didn't. I'm supposed to be working the day shift, but I've never had any past experiences with kids! I lied on my resume to get the job! I was desperate, okay!? I needed the money.
"Oh yes, I almost forgot your badge." Dream reaches into his pocket, dropping a small, blue, square-shaped wrapper. I'm just gonna pretend I didn't see that. I finally retrieve my badge. "And that's all there is to it! See ya."
Dream leaves the restaurant and I sit and wait alone for more employees to come in before the restaurant finally opens. I look up at the robotic bear on the stage.
I know what I thought of Foxy, but my god..
Foxy is the copper, this bear is my gold.
