I made it back to school just in time for my next class.

I met up with Stiles.

"Where have you been?"

"With my boyfriend. I watched his lacrosse practice"

"You're still seeing Brent?"

"His name is Brett and he's my mate, Stiles"

"Whatever"

I narrowed my eyes at him. What was with him?

"Anyways, Scott and I listened in on dad and the principal . We have a curfew because of the body."

"Okay? What does that have to do with us?"

"Listen vampy, I can do something"

I scoffed. "Like what? Find the other half of the body?"

"Can you read my mind?"

"No, that's my brother Edward who can. Also, I was joking!"

Stiles only gave me an innocent grin but I knew he was anything but innocent.

"I have a class to get too. Unlike you and Scott, I care about my grades"

"I care about my grades!"

I only laughed as I walked away.

Stiles and I were at Scott's house. He just walked in without knocking. I rolled my eyes as I shut the door.

"What did you find? How did you find it? Where did you find it?"

Scott looks at Stiles curiously.

"...And yes, I've had a lot of Adderall, so..."

"I found something at Derek Hale's"

"Are you kidding? What?"

"There's something buried out there. I could smell blood"

"That's awesome"

I rolled my eyes.

"...I mean, that's terrible. Whose blood?"

Scott stands up so he can look Stiles and I eye-to-eye.

"I don't know...But, when we do, your dad nails Derek for the murder. And then, you two help me figure out how to play lacrosse without changing, because there's no way I'm not playing that game."

Scott holds his lacrosse stick for emphasis, before tossing it onto his bed as we leave.

Scott, Stiles and I made it to the hospital.

"Hey"

"Okay"

Scott takes one last look around before slowly backing into the door towards the morgue, leaving Stiles and I behind as look-outs.

My phone pinged. I saw it was Brett. I grinned.

"Your boyfriend?"

"What if it is?"

"We're on a mission and you're texting?"

I shrugged. I sat down and began messaging him . Stiles groaned and rolled his eyes.

"Oh, my God"

"What's wrong?"

"Lydia's here"

"Your crush?"

"Keep it down. I'm gonna talk to her"

"You are such a hypocrite Stiles. I can't talk to Brett, but you can talk to Lydia? That's so not fair."

He shrugged. I rolled my eyes at him and went back to texting.

Stiles began trying to talk to her. I could see she was on the phone but he didn't.

She took out her earpiece.

"Yeah, I didn't catch any of what you just said. Is it worth repeating?"

I grinned at Stiles' embarrassed state.

"No. Sorry, I'll just sit..."

Stiles sits in the chair next to me and mutters under his breath.

"You don't care..."

I chuckled. I patted his thigh.

"There, there Stiles. You'll get her one day. Just not today"

"Don't try to help me"

I laughed.

Stiles is reading a pamphlet as Jackson walked up to Lydia. I rolled my eyes again.

Scott rips the pamphlet from Stiles' hands.

"Holy God!"

"The scent was the same"

"You're sure?"

"Yes"

"So, he did bury the other half of the body on his property?"

"Which means we have proof he killed the girl"

"I say we use it"

Stiles begins to walk away, and Scott and I, follow after him after sharing a confused look.

"How?"

"Tell me something first--are you doing this because you want to stop Derek, or because you want to play in the game and he said you couldn't?" I asked.

"There are bite marks on the legs, June---bite marks"

This seems to convince Stiles but I was still unconvinced.

"Okay. Then we're gonna need a shovel."

He smacks Scott playfully on the shoulder before leading us out of the hospital.

I groaned but I followed him. What was I getting myself into?
