Chapter Fourteen:

I walked into the bar. I was livid. He didn't want me to come over because he had to go to bed? bullshit.

When I walked in I scanned the crowd for Chelsea. I found her sitting at the bar talking to a reasonably attractive guy. I placed my purse on the bar beside her and slide into the seat.

After she finished talking to him and nudged her gently. She turned around looking annoyed and her expression changed when she saw it was me.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Well I want to see why my honest boyfriend is here," I said before turning to the bartender and ordering a vodka and cranberry.

"Well wish me luck," I said and a grin.

Chelsea sighed and leaned back in her seat. I headed down to the opposite side of the bar.

"This seat taken?" I asked.

Snake just waved his hand at me, staring at the wall and taking a sip of his beer. I placed my drink down and took a seat.

"So uh, what's so interesting about that wall?" I asked, leaning over to see what he was seeing.

"I'm trying to figure out how my girlfriend found out where I was," he answered not looking away.

"Chelsea is here," I said simply taking a sip of my drink.

Snake sighed and looked at me, "I'm sorry Sophi. I shouldn't have lied to you."

I shook my head, leaning back in my seat, "no you shouldn't have. So why did you?"

"I was irritated and pissed off. And I didn't want have to pretend I was okay all night."

"Why would you have to pretend?" I asked.

"Because I'm mad at you."

My eyes widened in shock, "me? what the hell did I do?"

Snake groaned and rubbed his face, "I don't want to fight."

I scoffed, "well you started that off on the wrong foot when you decided not to tell me where you were."

"Look. I don't like that Steven guy. I don't trust him."

"Because of how he acted the first time you met him?"

I nodded.

"He apologized! he's been polite to me and all he did was coming to ask for a job."

"Okay well I don't trust him and I don't want you working with him," Snake snapped.

"You have no right!"

"I know I don't," he said looking at me, "but please. Just trust me. He doesn't want to just be friends."

"Snake he has done nothing wrong since asking to be friends. I can't deny him a job because you don't like it," I explained.

"Then find another reason," he pleaded.

I shook my head, "I can't do that."

"Do you want attention from him?"

My jaw dropped, "what the fuck are you insinuating?"

Snake shook his head and took another sip of his beer before staring at the wall again, "just forget it."

"No. What the fuck? are you saying I'm just some-some hoe that wants all this attention from guys? cause last time I checked the ONLY guy I've wanted attention from is you. And now you're over here telling me that you basically don't trust me and accuse me of wanting attention from him!" my temper and my voice was rising.

"Sophi, I don't want to fight. I've said that before. Please just drop it."

"No," I said standing up, "fuck you Snake. Until you can learn to be a fucking decent human being don't fucking call me."

I stormed out of the bar and back to my car.
