Maya's First Valentine

The youngest Kundra princess is no longer a little girl in pigtails. At the cusp of her teenage years, she would rather fall in love than play with dolls. Though she is ready to grow up, daddy dearest is far from ready. To him, she will always be his little girl and no boy is allowed to be even 5 feet within her vicinity.

Maya can barely contain her nervous, bubbly excitement. She took meticulous care in her appearance today, from her new hairdo right down to new shoes. As a sign of her determination, she even braved to steal her sister's prized lip gloss to give her appearance the extra, special touch. Today has to be the day the object of her affection notices her and express his interest. Since the new school year started, she has had a crush on the cutest boy in her class and has been vying for his attentions. Maya smiles determinedly as she steps out of the car, today is Valentine's Day, and he has to give her a rose and declare his love. Her Kundra pride demands that he reciprocate her feelings. After all, she is the cutest girl in the class and he can't get anyone better than her. Ahaan.

As RK drives off from Maya's school, he can't shake off the nagging feeling that something is different about his baby girl. He almost reaches the studio as it hits him that she has made subtle changes in her appearance! RK smacks his head for being a blind idiot. If he had noticed earlier then he could have interrogated the details out of Maya. He panics and thinks his baby girl looks like a young beautiful woman and that means...BOYS! The wheels in his head keep turning as he goes through the process of elimination to determine the main reason for the changes.

Is today Picture Day at her school? No...can't be...then she would have yakked on and on about it just like biwi. Award function? No...no...no...can't be then biwi would have made sure to tell me at least a million times to clear my schedule to attend.

RK walks into the studio and he finds it strange that almost everyone on the set is wearing red. What the hell? Did they look into each other's window to dress up? Is this some blasted plan concocted to irritate me? Well...it is bloody well working!

Bittuji appears in front of RK also wearing an overly bright, red shirt.

Bittuji (grinning widely): Happy Valentine's Day Chief! (Noticing RK's shocked expression, asks concernedly) You do remember that today is V Day, right Chief? (Stresses) You know the day of love? (Shakes his head in exasperation) Oh God! You forgot to wish bhabiji! (Sighs dramatically) Good luck Chief. I better get busy making your funeral arrangements.

RK quickly walks away from Bittuji. Fuck! Biwi will chop off my balls tonight if I don't come up with a quick plan to celebrate this bloody nuisance of a day. Whoever thought it was a wonderful idea to widely celebrate Valentine's Day should be tortured till eternity. It's a bloody curse on mankind, another bloody, useless date we have to remember. Damn! Biwi loves V Day. No wonder she looked pissed in the morning! Even the girls reminded me a few weeks ago and like an idiot I forgot!

He halts in his stride as a new thought occurs. Damn! Forgetting about his own folly and his biwi's reaction, he solves the reason behind the changes in Maya.

Bloody hell! My baby girl is all dressed up because of Valentine's Day. And that could mean only one damned thing; it's all about a boy! Like hell I will let some good for nothing, pimple faced boy with bad intentions go after my baby.

At exactly 2:00 in the afternoon, RK arrives in front of Maya's school and ready to pounce on any young boy getting too close to his daughter.

Exactly 15 minutes later, Maya skips out of the school building, barely containing her excitement. She tightly clutches close to her heart, a teddy bear and a red, heart shaped candy box in her arms.

OMG!! OMG! Today is the best day ever! He actually likes me! OMG! I can't wait to go home and tell mommy and didu that a boy in my class actually likes me and asked me to be his Valentine. Where the heck are Rassu and Sasha? Stupid girls! Don't they know that a bestie getting a boyfriend is a momentous occasion and they should be with her to celebrate?

Annoyed, she looks around for her two best friends as her new boyfriend taps her on the shoulders. Maya smiles shyly as he nervously hands her a red carnation. They chat for a few minutes and finally with built up courage he leans forward and kisses her on the cheek causing Maya to blush profusely.

RK eyes burns with rage and he storms out of the car. No way in hell is he letting some boy get away with KISSING HIS BABY GIRL! He marches up to them and roughly pulls the boy away from Maya.

Maya (squeals in surprise): Daddy!

RK (snarls at the young, petrified teen): I want you to listen to be very very carefully. If I EVER see you kissing my daughter again or for that matter even near her again, I will bury you 6 feet under. Understood?!?

Maya (cries): Daddy stop it! He didn't do anything wrong. Why are you threatening Jay? (Whispers) Please stop it daddy! You're embarrassing me!

RK ignores Maya's pleas as the boy nods his head vigorously in agreement. As soon as RK lets go off him he runs off, not even sparing one glance back at Maya.

After a long, tearful ride back to the Kundra Mansion, Maya runs in crying straight into Madhu's arms.

Madhu (wipes away Maya's tears): What happened beta? (Outraged) Did Jay reject my baby? (Soothingly) Don't waste your tears over a blind idiot.

RK (walks in and hears Madhu, shocked): What the hell?!? You knew some boy was after our daughter and didn't think to tell me about it?

Maya (buries her head further into Madhu's chest and wails): My life is over!

Madhu (soothingly): No baby. You're life is far from over. Now tell mommy what happened.

RK (mutters): I save my baby from the clutches of a boy taking advantage of her and I am the bad guy in this picture. What has the world come to that a daddy saving his daughter is no longer appreciated.

Maya (sniffles): Daddy embarrassed me in front of the whole school! Jay gave me a flower and he even kissed me on the cheeks. (Hiccups) Daddy saw it and then threatened to kill him if he even comes near me again. (Wails) Now he won't even come near me, let alone even be a friend! No boy will ever come near me... (Glares at RK) thanks to daddy.

Madhu calms Maya down and sends her upstairs.

RK (glares at Madhu and asks angrily): Why the hell didn't you tell me?

Madhu (snaps): And what exactly am I supposed to tell you?!?

RK (waves his hands in the air in frustration): That my baby girl was interested in some boy!

Madhu (angrily): Precisely because you would overreact as you did today! Seriously RK? Threatening a 12 year old boy for a chaste kiss on the cheeks? He is just a child! And not only did you traumatize that poor boy with your threat to kill him, you also ruined your daughter's first sweet, innocent love. When will you learn to think before you act?

RK (stubbornly): What am I supposed to do? Ignore his actions? If I ignore now then the brat would have escalated it to more than a kiss further down the road. You want our sweet little Maya to become a teenage mom?

Madhu (angrily throws her hands up in the air and shouts): Oh God RK! I need to get some brain bleach and scrub your gutter mind thoroughly clean. Stop finding hidden, ill-intentions behind sweet, innocent actions.

RK (darkly): Ahaan. They all seem innocent at the beginning. Giving teddy bears, flowers, chocolates in the name of Valentine's Day when all these boys and men have one objective, to have sex!

Madhu (arches her brow): At least they remember Valentine's Day and make it special...unlike my dearest Patidev.
