daffodil

oh sweet badger, please dig out my bulb.
there's a kind, old woman looking
to give me someone to love.

poor, sad soul, i know you tried your best,
but the poison in my veins
cannot be laid to rest.

so long, scent of lilac
and the smell of baby's breath.
goodbye, my dear daisy, i always loved you best.

kind, withering soul, why have you stopped moving?
my water's cloudy, lacking substance,
but still you sit there brooding.

farewell to my last petal
and the insects that surround her.
it truly is a shame that nobody found us.
