[Camille]
I chuckled as I read the words on the page, the written scene playing in front of my eyes. I quickly turned the piece of paper and continued reading, letting out another chuckle at the funny end of the little dialogue.
I sighed with a smile and pulled my legs up the couch, correcting the blanket on top of me so it would cover my legs completely.
I'd finished the chapter and my concentration was broken by the music pleasantly playing from my box on the coffee table, its vibrations actually making some small things on top of it shake. I slightly nodded my head along to the tunes of Rose Tattoo, by Dropkick Murphys, whose sound made me think of my beloved Dire Straits.
My eyes started to wander around the living room, stopping at the TV for a few seconds and wondering if there was something I wanted to watch.
But before I could come to a clue myself, the sudden sound of a raindrop hitting the window caught my attention. I turned my head in that direction with slightly parted lips and noticed the sky'd turned grey, and more and more raindrops hit the window.
I sighed when the water started pouring heavily from the sky, and got up from my warm seat on the couch.
When I entered the kitchen I immediately started gathering the stuff I needed to make a good hot chocolate, figuring it'd distract me, and be delicious. I was stirring the milk and cacao powder when I heard my phone buzzing on the coffee table, and I almost jumped up and spilled everything.
I rushed back to the living room, not hesitating in picking up when I saw it was James.
"Hello there" his low voice greeted me, and I smiled."Goodmorning James" I answered, starting to make my way back to the kitchen. I heard him chuckle awkwardly. "Morning? It's 3 in the afternoon, Millie" he said confused, and I shrugged.
"I don't think it's ever too late for a goodmorning" I answered, kind of surprising myself as I'd simply been somewhere else with my mind.
James' beautiful laugh filled my ears. "Because of your words of wisdom, I'll let it slide this time" he jokingly announced, making me roll my eyes playfully while going back to stirring my drink.
"What're you up to?" he asked me after a short silence while I was opening the oven.
"I'm home alone, so not much. Just making some hot chocolate" I answered while putting the cup inside of the oven, closing it and putting it on microwave and setting the right timer while James continued our conversation.
"Are you doing okay? I figured, with the rain, that I'd give you a quick call" he explained, making my heart melt that he'd immediately thought of me. A big smile tugged at my lips while I still held the device dressed to my ears, staring at my cup inside of the oven.
"Oh, I'm fine, but- I mean..." I started, my voice trailing off as I turned around and put my elbows on the counter for support, fiddling with the spoon between my fingers.
"You can always come over" I suggested slowly, hoping he'd get the hint by the tone of my voice.
"I'm on my way" he answered a bit too quickly, making me laugh. "Here in 5?" I asked, raising my eyebrows while putting the milk back in the fridge, stopping in my tracks. "There in 5" he answered, making me smile before he ended the call as I reversed my steps and took out another cup to make James his own hot chocolate.
Just as I'd put the whipped cream on both of our cups, a quick and impatient knock on the back door was heard.
I smiled and quickly went to open it, having to take a step back as James immediately entered, completely soaked. He didn't waste any time in putting his hands on my waist, and I could already feel some drops of his jacket dripping on my clothes. But before I could say something about it, though, his lips found mine.
