It was now night. We were stalking the Hale house. We saw Derek Hale leaving his house. We got our of the Jeep.

"Wait, something's different"

"Different how?"

"I don't know"

We  reach the suspected gravesite, and Scott aims his shovel towards it with a shrug.

"Let's just get this over with"

Scott jams his shovel into the ground, stomping the spade-end with his foot to push it in further before scooping up some dirt and throwing it aside.

Us three work in silence for several minutes as we dig up the grave (which was wrong on so many levels), until Scott, sounding anxious, wipes his brow with his sleeve before he finally speaks up again.

"This is taking way too long"

Stiles and I roll our eyes, but he doesn't stop digging.

"Just keep going"

"What if he comes back?"

Stiles shrugs nonchalantly and continues to dig, as does Scott and I.

"Then we get the hell out of here"

"What if he catches us?"

"I have a plan for that"

"...Which is?"

Stiles stops digging, leading Scott to do the same. I had stopped a while ago.

"You run one way, June runs one way, I run the other. Whoever he catches first? Too bad."

I rolled my eyes.

"He wouldn't be able to catch me. Vampire remember. I have vampire speed"

"Don't brag" sassed Stiles.

I gave a sarcastic grin towards him.

Stiles shrugs again as though it's not a big deal. Scott sighs in exasperation.

"We hate that plan"

"Why aren't you helping? This could go faster" asked Stiles.

"I just don't want too. Why do I associate myself with you two again?"

"You love us"

"I seriously question that sometimes"

"Oh, stop, stop, stop"

When we looked down, we see a severed twine rope strings poking out of the earth. Stiles starts to undo the bindings.

Scott was still on edge that Derek might return.

"Hurry!"

"I'm trying. Did he have to tie the thing in, like, three hundred knots?"

"I'll do it"

Stiles continue to untie one end of the bundle, while Scott bends down further to start untying the other. After a long moment, the two manage to get it all unknottted, and they open the bundle to find what looks like a severed head of a black wolf.

The boys and I scream and leap out of the grave. We scurry away from the half of the wolf corpse.

I asked, "...what the hell is that?"

"It's a wolf"

"Yeah, we can see that. I thought you said you smelled blood, as in human blood?"

Scott shrugs before throwing his hands up, not knowing what else to say.

"I told you something was different..."

"That doesn't make sense"

"We gotta get out of here"

Stiles and I nod in agreement.

"Yeah. Okay, help me cover this up"

Stiles moves to start pushing the dirt back into the grave. I moved to do the same as did Scott, when suddenly Stiles sees a purple flower in the foreground and stood what he's doing.

"What's wrong?" Asked Scott and I.

"You see that flower?'

Scott and I frown in confusion.

"What about it?"

"I think it's wolfsbane"

"What's that?"

"Uh..haven't you seen The Wolf Man?'

"No?'

"Lon Chaney, Junior? Claude Rains"

Scott and I shake our heads.

"The original, classic werewolf movie?"

"Okay, we're wasting time here" I sassed.

"No!'

Stiles and I make a face at him.

"What?"

"You are so unprepared for this?"

Stiles pushes himself up to his feet and runs over to the flower, pulling the entire plant up by the roots and gaping in surprise when he realizes the base of the plant has more twins rope tied around it, which is also buried underground.

He gently pulls the rope which has randomly placed wolfsbane petals attached at various points along the length of it, only to find it is connected to the bundle of burlap around the wolf's head, the long length of it buried around the grave in a spiral pattern which glows red as Stiles unravels it.

Scott and I looked at Stiles with a skeptical expression, continued as to why we're wasting time with this, when suddenly, we look down and we're startled back onto our feet by what we find in the ground.

"Stiles...."

Stiles looks up and sees Scott and I looking in the grave with a shocked expression. He walks over. He yelps and jumps back a step, grabbing Scott's shoulder with his left hand to steady himself.

"Oh!"

The upper half of the human female body that Scott had originally seen in the woods the night he was bitten stares blankly up at us. Stiles gasps in shock.

I stared wide eyed.
