"This is the main area, a student pass by, biology classes left, algebra right," Charles explains, wheeling himself along next to you, who was also on crutches. You follow, tripping on your new adjustments. "Hank is quite the teacher. And here are some of the X-Men trainers."You both turn to see a blue woman and a man in glasses. "Hank, and Raven." "nice to see you..!" Hank reaches out his hand. You look at it confusingly. He coughs and takes it back, shoving his hands in his Lab Coats pockets. "You're the one who smashed through Charles's window?" she smiles. "Uh, yeah." you nod.
"All in good fun." He assures, "Ah! Come, here are the current X recruits. After you heal up I'm sure there could be room for you, once we exactly figure out what you can do." a group of kids walk down the stairs in uniform. "Yellow..?" you groan, "it was my mother's favorite color." you don't look at the crippled man, or his comment and look straight.
"Hello, this is our newest student- Y/n." you tilt your head. "Mystery is an illusion for Telepath's, Love." "hmm..." you hum, looking at the man in the hallway eyeing Charles. He just pats you on the back to distract you from Erik.
"I'm Jean." "Scott." "I'm Kurt.!" "That's Peter." your whole expression seemed disinterested. It couldn't be farther from that. Your mind was running a million Miles per hour.
Jean touches her temples, "I think she has one of the busiest minds I have ever seen." Charles excuses, with a nervous laugh."I thought you said you could read it?" you ask, "I try to give all students their privacy. But for intrusive thoughts like yours, it's an unwelcome word or two." "so you're able to read my name, but not that I'm not a girl?" you ask. Everyone went a bit silent.
You laugh. "You really paled! Oh my god. Where- other places.. You can go by anything you are." you add, "you don't see yourself as either do you? Interesting you are. That I already knew." you sigh, "So you don't have a-" "Scott!"
"Guess." Kurt put a thinking face on. You smile seeing it turn the gears in his head. "So instead of, you'd use They?" Jean asks, "Uh yeah." "Peter!" A silver dash responded to Charles's call.
"Yeppers?" Peter stopped munching on his Twinkie when he saw you. And your antlers. Huge, gleaming red, antlers. Red-tinted eyes, and white hair. All side effects of your X gene.
"I like your-" Peter puts his hands out on his head to show antlers."That's new." "I think you'll find it's quite different here Y/n. We don't have currently any rooms left, so you'll end up with a roommate. I do hope that is okay." "You got a spare lab?" "you're a scientist?" Hank asks, not buying it. You were wearing a bunch of patches and stickers all over you.
"No," you say hesitantly like you weren't sure if you said the right thing. Because you weren't. "I have a bigger room. If you need it." Jean offers, "With your nightmares?" Scott says, Jean scoffs. "It's trying to be nice, ever heard of it?" Peter looks you up and down, "I got free room."
"Yeah, no." "The hammer of authority is Unisex!" you scold, "if they don't object, this way I suppose.." Charles sighs before wheeling to the side with you.
"You were the one who crashed through the professor's window right?" Peter asks, the moment he sees the telepath close the door. "I have no idea how you didn't die." you shrug. "So you're Xmen- you uh, gotta be there right now right?" you ask. "No.." Peter looks at you closely.
"I'm leaving- but not because I have to be there but because I want a- Coke." He points, before zooming off.💫
"You like Ms. Pacman?" Peter asks. You stay focused on the machine in his room and say "This thing's Crazy!! It's like rosy times like 100,000!" you continue. Peter dashes behind you to watch your score. "How long have you been playing this?" "5 hours, 13 minutes, 42 seconds. Everyday."
