Arcane Lily's Resort, September 18th, 7:30 PM
"About what?" I answered with an angry temper "Nick!"
He nearly took a minute to speak.
"I lied! the resort doesn't belong to me!" Nick confessed and everyone was completely confused.
"What? that can't be," I told him with a dizzy facial reaction.
Suddenly, Weasel came back to the hallway while she held her revolver, ready to aim someone in the head. Wesel aimed her gun right at Nick's but Pauline did something that her brother would not ever guess.
"Nick!" Pauline pushes her brother away and seized the bullet for him.
Pauline's body fell to the floor and made Nick cry in a frightening experience. Her blood scattered from her head into the concrete floor, "Pauline" Nick whispered.
"There's a lot more where that came from" Weasel cocked the gun once more to target another person.
We all ran from Weasel, we didn't have any more directions but the opening of the bunker. Everyone ran down the stairs. Leading to nothing but darkness. Soon, Weasel ran after us.
Nick guided us from below since he knew where to go from there. The narrow yet futuristic interior of the bunker made it feel like fantasy vibes. Glowing lights that serve as lamps sticking in every wall that is seven meters away felt like a game of Temple Run.
"In here!" Nick yelled as his voice echoed from the hollow hallway made of metal.
We knew that Weasel is gotta be gaining on us, and that leads us to another massive door that might be fifty inches thick. Nick opened the door and led us inside the room. Luckily, Weasel didn't catch us.
In the room we're in, it was way shadier than from the top.
"Nick, open the lights" Veronica commanded.
"Alright, just give me a second," Nick said.
Not too long, the lights opened one by one and divulged a monumental chamber, with the futuristic vibe continuing from the room, with larger arches that collide with a very ancient pattern that goes on and on until it resembles the very center.
Nick told us to not cross the red border and that only he can enter because the security in this chamber can easily identify if an intruder made it inside. Fortunately for him, Nick can give us access by scanning the facial body part. Meaning our faces.
"It'll just take a minute." Nick held the scanner and placed it on everyone's faces.
When Anthony, Veronica, and Matthew were done, it was my turn. Nick told me to not blink. He opened the scanner and tried tracing it to my face, the red tic tac toe pattern made my eyes sore for a second.
The scans were successfully entered into the computers and camera sensors. Once I placed my leathered boots over the thick red line, nothing happened. And it's safe to say that the gadgets are family-friendly.
"It's safe guys," I signified.
Veronica, Anthony, Matthew, and I were shockingly surprised about how the resort kept it a secret. Who knew that a resort this sumptuous has its futuristic bunker just underneath its feet.
"Can I talk to Mason and Matthew for a moment?" Nick said to us while we were in the middle of talking.
Veronica and Anthony were cool with it.
"Sure, I don't mind," Veronica conveyed.
"Yeah, me too," Anthony said.
As we went further away from them. The conversation had commenced. Nick wanted to confess to us something that he has been hiding from us. It turns out that the resort is not Nick's but ours.
The conversation kept on getting disturbing.
"Mason, Matthew. This is your parent's resort. You see, my father is a great friend of your father. They work in the same building. They were inseparable. But one day, Your father was about to sign a contract for the resort's grand opening. That is until my mother came in with terrible news. It turns out that, He got her pregnant. After Pauline and I were born, our mom died. And he thought to himself that, He both placed me and my sister to foster care. After years of living in the streets. I met you. You guys are my brother and Pauline's your sister. That is before she died earlier. It's also the reason why I invited you guys, to give the keys in your hand."
With that long confession, Matthew and I cried. It was official, Nick Foster is not isn't a Foster, but a Hoover.
The three of us embraced in the middle of the bunker, and reuniting with a long-lost brother sure made us feel complete. Except for Pauline. May she rest in peace.
Eventually, we heard someone from across the room, loud explosives being set from the other side of the door. It nearly took fifteen shots just to bust down the metal door. Dust coming from the door flew straight into our eyes, one of the most uncomfortable experiences.
It was Weasel carrying a deadly rocket launcher.
"Did anyone miss me?" Weasel laughed as she pulled another trigger from the explosive weapon. "You know what? Rocket launchers are better than revolvers."
Weasel trigger the weapon straight to the ground and made all of us flinch in one hit. Everyone was on the ground feeling weak while Weasel kept on getting close and closer to the red line.
"Don't come any closer!" Matthew yelled at her.
She was too late, the cameras detected an intruder. The PA system commenced a timer for five minutes. Once the clock ticked at zero, the whole place will detonate into bits.
"Shit! We need to get out!" Nick yelled.
"What?" Anthony said.
"The whole place's is gonna blow!" Nick answered loudly.
Everyone got up from the ground and ran forth to the door but Weasel was guarding the exit. Weasel then aimed the launcher at me but my reflexes beat her up.
"Mason! the revolver!" Nick yelled from the other side.
"God you're smart" I whispered as I clutch out the revolver. "Just one shot on the head"
Weasel was too fast. She triggered hers first and made me flinch.
"Gotcha!" Weasel laughed and went over to me. "Get up you bitch!" She continues laughing.
"I am a bitch" I whispered as I made a surprise attack on her, and pulled the trigger straight to her head.
"Goodbye, Weasel!" I shot her head for the second time and for the third time also until I can no longer see her face.
"Mason, Hurry!" Nick shouted as I noticed that the time has already hit the two-minute mark.
I got up on my knees and ran straight to the exit. With Nick, Matthew, Anthony, Veronica, and I on the run out of the hallway to the lobby, the bomb finally ticked at the perfect time. The bomb made the entire building ripple in shreds. The glass window shattering, the interior being destroyed, what more could you want.
From the outside, the storm was so severe, that the temperature felt like -73°C. When the explosion was done, all of us sprung outwards.
All of us lay on the thick snow that kept on submerging through our backs. Burying ourselves alive in the deep drenches of white snow.
Will we ever be safe from this nightmare vacation?
