When he finally regained clear vision, he was already in a different body...and in a different world...
Naruse looked at his surroundings, only to find sand in every direction - it seemed like a never ending desert. His mind was in a mess, not knowing where he was or how he got here, but for some mysterious reason, he knew exactly what to do next.
Out of nowhere, 9s, his trusted yet sometimes annoying companion, appeared beside him.
"2B, what are you daydreaming about? We still have missions to complete!"
"Oh, sorry." Naruse answered without a thought...or more like he was controlled to answer.
Naruse and 9s traveled the sandy lands, defeated bosses after bosses and completed missions after missions. During one of the battles, Naruse found himself being able to cast a counter ability that he didn't remember learning.
"Maybe I unlocked it during a boss fight...nothing to worry about." Naruse thought to himself.
Many battles later, Naruse still found himself not very proficient in using his counter skill, but he didn't bother too much about it as the skill does work at moments.
"2B, we got a new mission, please take a look!" 9s alerted.
