Some time in the future; yes covid happened in this timeline.

[ A journalist in mid-west US listens very carefully to an earpiece before looking back into the camera dazed. The station is filled with worried panicking people with visible sweat marks on their clothes and too much white showing around their eyes. ]

"Reports are coming in now....Ok." "Yellowstone has gone catastrophic. We've been reporting on the increased tectonic activity in the park for 3 weeks now and according to the last transmission from the gauge site the earthquake we felt last night was the big one folks. The Yellowstone ranger office has been assumed destroyed. We don't know what this means but the preliminary reports warn of extremely hot and fast moving debris and winds. Others have seen huge geysers from miles away which is followed by the rotten egg smell from hydrogen sulfide. Its growing exponentially we can't hope to stop the destruction. Folks, this is moving faster than a jet plane according to satellite imagery."

[His face goes slack but his voice is chilling]

"Make your peace now, don't bother trying to run."

[The broadcast is cut off and a deafening roar of wind comes barreling into the area.]

3 years after The Whiteout

[A wan looking journalist with a thick British accent, outside filming a segment dressed in thick winter clothing; finishing a report on the world state of affairs. The wind rushes past taking part of his sentence with it.]

"....no sign of nearly half of the Americas with no indication that the area will be coming out from under extreme cloud cover. 3 years of terrifying rot, cold, and famine lead this reporter to believe if there are survivors in Canada and the US, they are holding on by a scrap of life just like we are."

56 years after The Whiteout

[a German climate refugee speaks into a landline phone siting in a booth in Portugal]

"Well what can we do anymore? We didn't have enough doctors before the whiteout and we sure as hell aren't shoring up the numbers when we're being poached off by the rich. It doesn't matter anyway. Even their babies are born with micro-plastics in their blood. Every child is a ticking time bomb."

100 years after The Whiteout

[The journal  entry of an agriculturalist in Ghana who is a Diplomat of the country and representative of the Ganga Hope Seed Bank]

Today is the day we get the last of the archived seeds for crops. Thankfully most surviving nations have cooperated with us since we are part of the lucky few who already had enough to eat and enough room for growth and innovation. I'm still amazed at how well poised we were to take on the world's problems on this continent. It hasn't been easy. Of course crops fail and productivity hasn't been the same for over a century. Suddenly we are in charge of the world's food in a newly temperate land that was on the brink of overheating 100 years ago. I hope no one ever reads this but, thank God. To me it seems like the hand of god. Nearly all atmospheric warming has stopped. Global warming has stopped. What we could not do for ourselves God forced us back to humbleness. We are blessed. Here and in Asia anyway.
