Love In A Maze

One

When I woke up it was pitch black with the occasional red light zooming by. I started to feel my souroundings to figure out were I was. I layed my hand on what I think is a metal cage. I started to hear a noise it sounded like an animal so I felt around until I found a corner to cower in. Just as I began to think this was going to be a never ending ride the chains rattled and the cage went to a shriecking stop. The force of the immediate stop made my head fling back and hit my head against the cage. All of a sudden a light started to appear I had to close my eyes before I could adjust them. I put my head into my hands then I heard the sounds of people talking.

It's a girl.

Then the cage lurched from someone jumping into into it. A soft voice said,"Are you alright."

I looked up to see a tall boy with dirty blond hair staring down at me with an outstretched hand. I took it asking why can't I remember anything. The boy didn't respond. I looked around at all the boys staring at me. Then I spotted a giant opening. I pushed my way through the crowd staring at the opening I started to run forwards it. The people behind me told me to stop I didn't listen to them, I just kept running.

When I made it to the opening I walked in looking around. I walked to the intersection and seen a boy running forwards me. I didn't understand why he was running but I stared at his beautiful features. He was an Asian with short hair, he had muscles that flexed every time he took a step. He looked at me in shock shook his head scooped me up and continued running to the doors. I looked behind him and finally realized why he was running. An ugly monster was chasing him.

Click...whirl...click...whirl...

I let out a screech and put my head in the crease of his neck to "hide" myself. When I looked back again the creature stopped following us and continued the other way. The boy that had been carrying me took me back to the place I had just arrived at. He gently set me down bewildered. I glanced around and all the boys were in shock with their mouths hanging open. I ran past them not wanting to be stared at and ran into the woods hoping I wouldn't be followed when I reached the back of the maze I sat in the corner alone.

I heard a twig break and my head jolted up in alertness. Then the boy that saved me appeared. I backed into the corner farther. The boy told me to calm down. At that I did. He came closer and sat in front of me. He started to speak.

He said,"Hello my name is Minho, and we are at now is called the glade." He continued,"We didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable we just haven't ever had a girl come up in the box before."

So that's why they were staring at me.

He started speaking again,"If you could remember your name...

What was that thing I said cutting him off.

That thing that was following me? That was a greiver.

I nodded my head and said,"Whitney." He looked confused. I rolled my eyes and said,"My name is Whitney."

He smirked at me stood up held out his hand and said come on. I took his hand. He held it for a second longer than needed then released.

Once we made it back to everyone Minho told me to wait there and ran off. I sat by a boy that looked younger than me. He looked at me for a second and said,"The names chuck." I smiled and said,"Whitney." He said so how does it feel being the only girl here.

I thought about it for a minute and replied well I guess the only problem I have is all these guys keep looking at me like I'm the best thing they've ever seen. Chuck laughed and said well I guess Minho will make em stop.

I said why's that. He looked at me like I was crazy and said,"Well duh you dumb shank you and Minho are a thing." I looked at him with big eyes and said,"WHAT?!?!" He smiled and said never mind. I took a deep breath and let it go.

I turned my head back to the fire the boys just started and seen Minho and two boys coming to me. One was the boy that helped me out of that cage thing. The other was dark skinned and about my height. When they approached me Minho introduced us. He pointed at the taller boy and said,"This shank here is Newt and this shank" he pointed to the other boy,"This is Alby." I skilled at them and said,"I'm Whitney," I looked at Newt and said,"Sorry I didn't introduce myself when I got out that...cage thing." Newt looked at the cage and turned back he skilled and said,"We call it the box."

Oh, I said. Just then Alby spoke up, well I better go and explain everything to you. I nodded and we left. He took me up a tree and he explained everything about what apparently is the maze.
I hooded finally understanding somethings. Its better than nothing.
