Theory:

Brant is part of the Redek family (Marella's family). We don't know Brant's last name so...

Evidence:

- We don't know his last name

- Why Caprese (Marella's Mom) fell off the balcony and got injured

- Why Marella's parents couldn't care for him when Jolie died and had Edaline and Grady do it

- Marella's parents weren't surprised that she manifested as a pyrokinetic because they had been through it before with Brant
