Part 10: The New War Arc

A/N: This is the next chapter on the beginning of the new Arc about the rise of demi-humans and their rising.

Third person POV

In a large and quiet forest when only the buzzing of insects, certain birdsong was heard.

But that's not the main point of this story so instead we can see that a large group of people are walking through the forest.

Among that group of people were even large numbers of children, women and the old people.

Their clothes looked like they were torn along with the wounds and dirt on their bodies.

And some of them were very tired during this trip and some even fell and some were completely injured...

"Hurry up everyone we have to move!" A man in tattered clothes said as he carried a baby.

"But where are we going now..." The other man look like his friend when asked as he held the spear.

"I-I... I don't know..." Kai holding the baby spoke as he lowered his head.

Both of them didn't say anything for a while.

All of them are fugitives and rebels from the exploitative and disgusting of their owner.

The owner and his minions tortured them, massacred them, and captured their women as their sex slaves or for sale.

All because they are Demi-humans and also have some Elves on there...

The Elves were treated a little better, but that didn't change the fact that their labor and people were completely exploited.

So a revolt against their own master arose but was eventually extinguished completely.

But now that their rebellion has failed, they are now fugitives and they certainly don't know what they will do with them after the uprising.

Just like they don't want to go back to that hell again even if they have nowhere to go and what they were all doing was running away as fast and as far as possible.

But then a horse neighing from behind caused everyone to panic and it seemed they knew perfectly well what it was.

"It's them..." The Kai hugged the crying child from the panicking noises of people nearby.

"Shit! Gather all men who can fight now! Prepare to fight and children, old people and women evacuate!" The spear-wielding man said as he patted his friend's shoulder.

"You and other people go first! We'll be here to hold them back to by some time" he said seriously.

"But what about you?!" Kai said in worriedly.

*Sigh* Kai Listen to me. That kid's mother is dead and you're his last relative and if we catch you and that kid..." He said to the end then paused.

The child's mother died on the way to escape and it was Kai who saved the child.

Then, then, his eyes were serious and intense as he looked at his friend as if he wanted to say something.

His friends seem to understand and he looks a bit confused and sad but then he just nods as if to accept.

"Okay Shen, good luck..." Kai said as he continued walking ahead.

*Sigh* "Now then..." Shen turned to look.

He saw quite a few men volunteering to stay, even though they had never undergone military training and weapons were quite lacking, so some of them had to use stones or sticks.
