Mt. Echo, September 19th, 12:30 PM
"Holy crap!" I yelled in terror, looking at another person dying even from a far distance.
The cart was almost at the end of the cliff. Just making sure to not let my head pop out of it, or else I'll end up like Anthony.
"Are we there yet?" Veronica yelled.
"We're almost there, just keep your eyes close," Nick answered.
"But why am I hearing gunshots?" Veronica yelled once more.
The cart reached the end, I held Veronica's cold hands and assisted her from inside the cart to the outside. There is nothing more memorable than Anthony's jacket which became a memory for Veronica. Knowing that all of her friends are dead.
All of us breathed the cold air which made it even colder than ever. Snow still rushes down the clouds hitting the ground.
"Where's Anthony?" Veronica questioned us.
But we remained silent. "Don't tell me, he's--"
"Dead" I continued for her with a melancholy tone.
Veronica cried out loud, we tried confronting her that it was not her fault. He placed his life for her. Veronica couldn't stop crying.
"We're sorry Veronica." I gave her respect.
"Let's get out of here," Veronica stated as she sniffles her tears. She marches out of our perspective and made us follow her. Luckily, a staircase is provided for us to exit.
After long hikes to the bottom of the icy cliffs, we finally met up with the road. We did find something random, a car on the side of the road. Our frowns turned upside down when we saw a working vehicle, the engine was okay, the tires were aired, and most importantly, there was fuel already inside.
Matthew hopped into the car to check if the key were inside, he checked inside the glove compartment and saw the key's untouched.
"Found it! hop on!" Matthew yelled from inside the car.
All of us felt excited while hopping in the car, Matthew placed the key in the keyhole and made the engine rev in good shape.
"Who's ready to go?" Matthew asked.
"We all are," Nick said as he slightly smiled.
"Alright," Matthew shouted in excitement as he started the car and headed on to find the exit.
Along the road, I took the time to take a nap, and so were the others. It has been a long day for us.
Jillian Anderson, Spencer Leonard, Pauline Hoover, and Anthony Diaz will forever remain a memory.
After hours of driving, I realized that the car was no longer functioning, the moment I opened my eyes, I was alone. "Guys?"
Not for long, I heard yelling from outside. My eyes were blurry that time, but they recovered when I wiped them off with my gloves. With me inside the car, I can see from afar what was all the commotion about.
My friends were hostage, by... Husky!
"Husky, found us, but how?" I told myself.
After all the things we have done, I've never guessed that Husky would find us. I bet that he was also the person who shot Anthony in the head and drove the truck.
I couldn't really do anything cause of the thick mist of snow, but I did recognize that Russian accent. The second I heard it, it better be Husky.
The loud gunshots of his revolver made me flinch in the air, but I needed to make sure that he'd never guess that I was nearby.
Luckily, the windows of the car were narrow enough to hear their conversation.
"How fun, only three of you made it out alive," Husky laughed.
"How did you find us?" Nick questioned.
The Husky did outsmart us, he was the one who set the car earlier, I knew that something was fishy the moment we found the car, Plus, what makes this top the setup is that Husky placed a tracker from underneath the vehicle. So that he can locate where the car is heading off.
I thought the nightmare finally ended, but seeing Husky alive, made a huge downfall.
"Hello, Nick boy" Husky leaned into him and placed the gun at his chin. "Where's the money."
"What money." Nick made him confused.
Suddenly, a smack on the face was sent to Nick, his bloody nose and agony are all I can see from the window.
"Where's the money!" Husky yelled once more. "I knew you were a coward."
Soon, Husky did the unthinkable, he reveals himself by taking off his Wolf helmet. And reveals a serious face, his eyes are very Rusian-like, his bald hair lined up perfectly with one scratched eye and his pupil is smaller than the other.
Husky continued to laugh hysterically. "Now, let's get real. Where is the money!"
"You know what Husky If Penguin and Weasel are here---"
"Where are they!" Husky questioned Nick aggressively.
"Let me finish talking you bastard wolf... We killed them." Nick continued.
"What?" Husky was in shock.
"You heard that right." Nick continued.
"Whatever, I really don't care about Penguin and for Weasel, ha! she's a bitch!" Husky answered, It's official, he only cared about the money more than his friends.
"And soon, you'll be joining them," Nick said out loud.
Since the thick snow made it impossible to see if someone can creep up, I shot Husky in the face, fortunately, it didn't take long for him to falter in one hit of the revolver. Husky's life has finally ended.
"Mason!" Matthew came up and embraced me deep in his heart. While Nick and Veronica joined the moment. But they weren't the only ones who joined. The Husky wasn't finished. He crept up behind us and made a growl.
But in case we forgot, there is one last bullet inside the revolver, and that makes the last shot for Husky to fall to his death. I swayed my body into him and blew the trigger at his head.
"Farewell, Husky" I whispered.
Now we can finally have inner peace. All of us went back to the car, this time Veronica is with Nick at the back as she helps him heal Nick's bloody nose. While Matthew and I are at the front of the car.
"Rough winter isn't it?" Matthew said.
"Tell me about it," I answered back.
"So, what else should we do tomorrow?" Matthew said.
"Why? What's for tomorrow?" I was not certain.
"Knock, knock Mason, our winter break doesn't end until December 22nd," Matthew answered.
"Then I guess we still have three more days before the break ends," I replied with realization.
To end our conversation, we both focused on the road until we reached civilization.
With all four of us in one shape, I must say, things got wild when we reached the resort. Now that our father's prize possession is destroyed by a bomb. The resort will be treasured by its rightful owners.
The Hoover Brothers.
The End!
