-The next night-
"Fifteen men on a dead man's chest,
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum,
Drink and the devil had done for the rest,
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum." Gibbs chants, taking a sip of his rum.
"Gibbs! Stop that infernal singing!" I complain.
"Lass, what's got you vexed?" He asks.
"One, don't call me that. Two, Jack has been gone way too long." I say.
"Don't worry about Jack. He always manages to get out alive." Gibbs says.
"Sometimes I worry that you care more about Jack than me," Caspian says, wrapping his arm around me. I roll my eyes.
" Not quite according to plan." Gibbs says, hoisting someone on deck.
"Complications arose, ensued, were overcome." Jack tells him.
"You got what you went in for, then?" Caspian asks as we walk over to him.
"Mm-hmm!" Jack confirms. He turns around to come across the rest of the crew surrounding him.
"Captain, I think the crew, meaning me as well, were expecting something a bit more... shiny. What with the Isla de Muerta going all pear shaped, reclaimed by the sea, and the treasure with it." Gibbs says. I roll my eyes.
"And the Royal Navy chasing us all around the Atlantic." Leech adds.
"And the hurricane!" Marty adds.
"Aye." The rest of the crew agrees.
"All in all, it's seems some time since we did a speck of honest pirating." Gibbs says.
"Shiny?" Jack questions.
"Aye, shiny." Gibbs confirms.
"Is that how you're all feeling, then? Perhaps dear old Jack is not serving your best interests as captain?" He asks the crew.
"Awk! Walk the plank!" Cotton's bird squawks. Jack grabs his pistol and points it at the bird.
"What did the bird say?" Jack orders.
"Do not blame the bird. Show us what is on that piece of cloth there." Leech says. Jack the monkey snarls, seizes the cloth in Jack's hand, and scampers off with it.
"Oi!" Jack shouts, running after the monkey. Jack attempts to shoot the monkey with his pistol, but his pistol misfires. He grabs my pistol and blasts the monkey while it's on the deck. The monkey drops the cloth, but is unharmed, and scurries into the rigging.
"Know that don't do no good." Gibbs tells him.
"It does me." Jack says. Marty picks up the cloth that the monkey dropped and says,
"It's a key!"
"No! Much more better! It is a drawing of a key." Jack says, holding up the cloth. "Gentlemen, what do keys do?" He asks.
"Keys... unlock... things?" Leech asks.
And whatever this key unlocks, inside there's something valuable. So, we're setting out to find whatever this key unlocks!" Gibbs says.
"No! If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever it is we don't have that it unlocks. So what purpose would be served in finding whatever need be unlocked, which we don't have, without first having found the key what unlocks it?" Jack questions, earning puzzled looks from the crew.
"So - We're going after this key!" Gibbs exclaims.
"You're not making any sense at all. Any more questions?" Jack asks.
