A chance at Forever

Chapter 3

Next morning (Thursday, July 9th)

I woke up and quickly sat up looking around, I looked over to my side and saw Liz still fast asleep. I picked my phone up and saw that it was 9 am. Wow, I'm surprised Liz isn't up. I unplugged my phone and got out of bed and went downstairs into the kitchen. As I entered I saw my mom making a cup of coffee.

I sat at the island and watched her make her coffee she turned around and shrieked, " God fucking dammit Havyn you scared the hell out of me!"

" eheh sorry"

She took a deep breath, " it's alright sweetie, so where's Liz?"

" She's still sleeping, she was in the shower when I fell asleep so I'm not sure how late she was up. Oh, and when is dad going to be back? I asked

" He'll be back this Saturday," my mom  said taking a sip of her coffee

" okay," I said while pulling my phone out. I opened up mine and Tom's  messages and read them. There were two from last night and once from this morning

Tom: Hey :) (at 10: 30 pm)

Tom: you're probably sleeping, so I'll message you tomorrow goodnight :)  (at 11 pm)

Tom: Good morning!

I smiled, he's so sweet I quickly typed back a response.

Me: Good morning Tom :)

Tom: How'd you sleep?

Me: I slept like a dead body

Tom: LMFAO

Tom: Okay so, I've got a few questions I need you to answer so I can plan our date okay?

Me: alrighty

Tom: okay so

   1. Favorite movie genre

   2. Favorite type of food

   3. Fancy or casual?

Me: 1. Comedy 2. Italian 3. Casual I don't mind going fancy every now and again but I'm definitely a more casual type of person lol

Tom: Okay! I'll talk to you in a bit, okay?

Me: lol okay

I shut my phone off and set it down, my mom smiled at me, setting a plate with a bagel with strawberry cream cheese and cantaloupe chunks.

"Thanks mom"

I started eating the bagel while my mom kept smiling at me, " What?" I said my mouth was full of bagel chunks.

" Who were you texting?"

I laughed, I swallowed my food and said, " I was talking to Tom, he was asking me questions to get a better idea of what to plan for the date."

My mom squealed, " That's so exciting!"

"I know!" I said getting excited

" What's so exciting?" Liz asked, walking into the kitchen wide awake. She looked like she had been up for hours. She came and sat beside me.

My mom went and got her a plate with a bagel and fruits and placed it up in front of her, "thanks!" She said happily, " Now what's so exciting?"

" Oh, havyn hasn't told you? Tom is taking her on a date tonight!" My mom explained

Liz's jaw dropped, and the food in her mouth followed with it. " What!! You're going on a date with Tom!"

" I can't tell if you're mad or happy..." I said cautiously
